Keith P. replied:
Runningwarehouse.com Great deals, free shipping And free shipping on returns 30 day run in them guarantees If you don't like them, send them back and get a full credit

I often buy shoes from the RunningWarehouse.com. You can use the promo code runblog10 and save 10%. They also have free 2 day air shipping! They also have a 90-day no sweat return policy on shoes that you have worn. You can return them in that time period and basically get a store credit to use towards something else!

I've had good luck with Running Warehouse too. Also, believe it or not, occasionally I've found deals on Jet.com (got a pair of Mizunos for $18 once!). I use the site www.shoekicker.com to help me find best deals on my shoes.

On a recent trail run a tree root ripped a hole through the mesh in one of my shoes. Does anyone have a good suggestion on a repair for this??

JB Weld or Duct tape, that shit fixes everything! lol

Go to Hardcorebrands.com.au and register ... We will fix you up ...

Ron M. replied:
I would try a good leather glue like Tear Mender and if you need it (looks like you do) throw a piece of cloth over the hole first.
Daniel D. replied:
Marc Henn...as I was in a fast and very technical downhill the tree root caught the top of my shoe and with my momentum it ripped through the mesh and hooked into the toe box and didn't let go or break off. This action stopped me dead in my tracks like a dog reaching the end of his chain. Somehow I avoided injury...would have made a funny video I'm sure. Honestly, I'm OK with the hole except that my toes pop through it while I run leaving them unprotected from the rocky Appalachian Trail terrain.

If you need something soon, check out Payless and Target. They're everywhere and most of their shoes are faux leather, like Brandi noted. I have spent a lot of time looking at the insides of shoes to see what they're made of at Nordstrom Rack and Macy's, if I want a fancier, better quality shoe. One of my favorite online stores for shoes is www.modcloth.com.
LaVonne V. replied:
Wherever I shop, I still am compelled to verify the materials used to construct the shoes. Learn to read the symbols: http://www.vegan.hk/en/2012-06-12-04-19-46/shopping/9-resources/131-shoe-label-english If no information exists on the shoes or its packaging, do an Internet search for the product description. I shop at the DSW store and ALWAYS ask a floor rep for vegan shoes. They're beginning to understand the term, and the more we ask (even if we don't get much help), the sooner they'll "get it". Online, DSW and Zappos have the "man-made" filter, but you still need to verify the materials because the filter will deliver shoes that are leather with manmade soles and/or trim. I've also purchased Olsenhaus at www.veganchic.com and www.planetshoes.com.
