Looking for an Oddities Shop My husband and I have acquired a collection of oddities and antiques through the years. We really enjoy finding weird shops to visit. Does...

Yeya's Antiques & Oddities off Commerce (haven't been yet, but it's on my list), and there's a ton of random stuff at the Ironside Antiques Mall off Wurzbach and I-10. It's a collection of individual vendors who have small shops. Have to dig around, but some of them have weird things. Have you looked around on Hildebrand? There's a half dozen or so stores between Blanco and San Pedro.

Some of my personal favorites: There is a good collection of antique shops (most focusing on furniture, but a few collectible places) on Hildebrand between San Pedro and Blanco. Easy to hit 6-8 shops in a short amount of time. Charlotte's Antiques and Clocks on Austin Highway has one of the best local collections I've ever found of... basically everything. Home wares, kitchen goodies, antiques, historical finds, knick knacks, you name it, they've probably got it somewhere. Likely my single favorite shop in town. Bussey's Flea Market (Out I-35, take exit 177) is the best flea market in the immediate area. Lots of actual antique finds, very little dollar store filler or people selling fidget spinners. I've found some excellent goodies there. Admission is $1/car, worth it. And finally, there's always Round Top in the Fall. It's a bit of a parking nightmare on the weekends with how popular it has gotten though. The best stop in the state if you want to browse A LOT of vendors all in a weekend though! We've had better luck going during the week to avoid traffic.

Have you tried a flea market? San Antonio has some huge ones.

I found a reproduction fiðla, a 12 th century Icelandic fiddle, at the antique shop across the street from my apartment. Is that strange enough? It's called Craftiques, and they also sell fresh tea. You can browse with a cuppa at your leisure. It's great.
