Hello! I am in the process of cleaning out my pantry. Please let me share with you! I have chicken stock and canned goods and a huge bag of rice. Cleaning out bc I’m going out of town for a bit and rather give them away then have them sit. Otherwise I will be donating to some community fridges. There are some neighborhood pantries, I will link the addresses for you. Also: snap is offering the full amount right now during the pandemic although it does take awhile to get approved if you don’t have a computer.
Edit here they are: Little free pantry 78250, this one is off tezel, on the corner of Silent Oaks, and Peaceful Meadows.
Hope pantry @ 9831 Menard circle.
Community fridge (vegan only/fresh veggies) @ 1316 Austin st.
Hopefully one of them are near you. Lmk if you’re interested in the food I don’t need or want, I can throw in a dozen eggs too from my hens. And I can come to you so you don’t need to use your gas.

If you volunteer to work at the food bank you don’t have to wait in line.

www.sacrd.org You can use your phone’s location to find food pantries near you or by zip code. Edit. In fact, you can find a number of resources with this website.

As a general rule, always try calling 211. The United Way can tell you what's available relatively near you and what you need to bring, etc. There's a "mega" food event through SA Food Bank being hosted at the AlamoDome soon btw: https://safoodbank.org/cvresponse/getfood/

I know this is probably really bad advice but if you walk in to heb and grab a bag of potatoes and walk out I don’t think you’ll get stopped.
IDEA Public Schools is currently handing out curbside meals for anyone under 18 at all/most of their campuses! All you need to bring is proof of age (birth certificate, school ID) for anyone under 18, doesn’t matter what school they go to. They also do bundling on Friday’s to give meals to last the weekend

You have to call the food bank then go in and get registered, the New Braunfels FB was allowing a pick up every 10 days and the wait is less than a half hour. open mon - sat. They also will give you info on other food charities in the area.

I'm pretty sure all the local school districts are giving out at least breakfast and lunch packs, but you'd have to look up where the drive through pick up locations are.
