Electronics Surplus Store Reccomendations Hello fellow Austin peeps. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good electronics surplus stores in the area. Looking for...

I think UT and the Pickle Research Center do a surplus equipment sale a few times per year. TXState in San Marcos also does one. The state has a surplus store on 183 just a little north of the river. It is a random assortment of things from every state agency and also all the stuff confiscated by TSA at the airport (primarily knives and cigarette lighters). The Goodwill on Research between Ohlen and Burnet has a lot of computer stuff. There is also Discount Electronics but they kinda suck unless you are looking for a Dell refurb or Dell branded accessory.

In Leander DougDeals.com the website has good up to date inventory, they might have what you are looking for.

There's a ham radio fest that just happened. If you can wait til October you can go to one in Belton. Goodwill Computer Works and Discount Electronics have been mentioned, but they are not in the same class as https://epohouston.com/ or http://www.tannerelectronics.com/ . There's a place in San Antonio called http://www.intertexelectronics.com/ but I haven't been there yet. You would think that Austin would have such a place. We used to have one in the industrial park just south of the Pickle Research Center, M. C. Howard's, but it went out of business a while ago.

I have no idea why the goodwill keeps getting mentioned. It is an absolute overpriced garbage heap.
Does anyone know of a store that sells old electronics? I'm looking for a store that sells old electronics. Preferably a first generation AppleTV & close to loop 410....

The first thing that came to mind is the Goodwill computer store. They have a vast selection of aging electronics. They're located on I-10, next door to the bowling alley (University Bowl?). But if you're looking for something specific, like a 1 st gen AppleTV, then I'd recommend checking craigslist.org or ebay.com.
