Does anyone know of any legit computer repair shops that have decent systems for sale?

I've never been to Blake's, but I took karate lessons from an adjacent storefront in that shopping center for several years during the 80 s (I think it's the one now occupied by the Turquoise restaurant). Glad to see that venerable gun shop is still in business! Blake's doesn't appear to have its own website, though it does have a Facebook page that doesn't appear to have been updated since 2012. The most recent review of it on Google Plus, from a year ago, says that it is no longer in business. Its proprietor, Blake McCoy, has a Facebook account which I'd message for any inquiries: https://www.facebook.com/blake.mccloy .

Google Plus says Mr. Notebook is "permanently closed," but its website is still operational, and its Facebook page was last updated on January 1 of this year. https://mrnotebook.com/home

Can anyone recommend a good computer repair shop? I have a PC that needs a new power supply and I dont really feel comfortable doing it myself. I used to use Amenity...
Joeskyyy replied:
I'd highly recommend just doing this yourself. It's quite possibly the easiest thing to replace. I'd recommend as well, getting a modular PSU, that way in the event of a future failure all you need to do is unplug from the PSU and replug cables to the PSU, rather than to your mobo/drives/etc. I have [this one](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00COIZTZM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it's great. (You can get a lower wattage if you don't need that high) You're going to spend way more money than it's worth for something like that. If you ABSOLUTELY have to do it, support local small business and check out Allgen behind University Bowl on DeZevala (:

Go find a psu and I'll do it for you.

a power supply is very simple to do yourself. just remove the old one and plug the new one in. the individual power feeds coming off of it can only be plugged in one way and you cant really mess it up. 30 minutes to an hour at most

I've used Altex in the past and been happy with their service. They have a location on 1604 near Babcock. http://www.altex.com/computers-electronics-store-san-antonio-texas-1604.aspx

Honestly, replacing a computer's PSU is not rocket science. It really is hard to mess it up. If you are worried about dealing with masses of wires, I would suggest researching modular PSU's. They aren't that expensive these days, and you will save more money and dodge the markup and install charges that many stores will hit you with if you opt to have them do it for you. Depending on your system, you will probably want something between either 650-850W. I suggest ones from either Corsair or XFX, they've never let me down.

That's the easiest piece of hardware to replace on a PC. Take your PC to Altex, have them match the power supply, then replace it. It really is a no brainer. You can't fuck it up.

Sadly ACS has closed down. Replacing the PSU is dead simple.

My laptop was toast back before Thanksgiving but now I want and have the means to get it repaired, so Facebook. Does anyone have a computer repair store...
Chris S. replied:
That works. Then I will have my cell on tomorrow. So, I'll held over to my aunts tonight and then when I wake up I'll be online or you can text or call 210-609-6660. Cool. I'll go get my disks just in case I need them. Do you know your computers make and model? I have the tools to open things up. If have a can of air or a blow drier with a cool setting this would be the best time for it.
Chris S. replied:
Plus if I can't fix it, I can help you find the parts for cheap and I know a few places to call that usually are way cheaper then the above to fix such as PC Outlet.
