Yes... I'll take the bikes. I refurbish the bikes then take them to family members of the church group I've been working with for years. Check it out. www.kingdombuildersministry.org Check out this flyer too. All I need is your address and best phone number in order to pick up. Let me know via PM or, call me at 949-481-0116

I just went into Performance Bicycle off Alicia last night and bought my bike! They have such a huge selection and really put you in the bike that is up to speed with what you are looking to use it for. I had the same experience as you with everywhere highballing or just having overly pricy bikes for myself who is pretty green when it comes to mountain biking. I walked out spending less than $500.

That's great Ashleigh - please wish him luck from us!!! We've purchased our bikes over the years from "Buy My Bikes" in SJC. They're great and have been around forever! I'm sure they'd work with you and your husband.

Triathlete here...done Oceanside 11 times and multiple other races. There's a saying in triathlon: "It's not about the bike, it's about the engine", meaning his training is the most important part. Having a $5,000 bike might take a few minutes off his bike time, but ultimately, if he's fit, even a cheapo bike will get him to transition ready to handle the run. Just make sure it's a road bike with moderately decent components. This website always has great deals: http://www.bikesdirect.com That said, when I got into the sport in 2005, I also got my first bike at Performance. They have a good selection of cheaper bikes too, but definitely check out that site I linked.
My wife and I are looking to buy quality mountain bikes for moderate trail riding. Any recommendations on where to purchase them and get pointed in the right direction....
