I tried flightcar.com for over a month. Top notch service and cheapest price ever ($34 a day for a van). Only drawback is that you have to pick the car up at the airport.

There are just so many places in every direction and so many different criteria. Near the ocean, desert, forest? Full hookups, partial hookups, no hookups? Density of campsites? Luckily you can figure it all out [campendium.com](https://campendium.com), and also look at [hipcamp.com](https://hipcamp.com) for private sites. On campendium I like to stick to places that have reviews and ample photos.

Rent a Wreck, in the Dogpatch district (south of the ballpark on 3 rd Street). No frills cars for rent that are much cheaper than the standard rentals. last time I got a Hyundai sedan that was ~4 years old. Worked great. They also do van/truck rentals for moving, diff company but same office.

None really. In my experience it’s one of the most expensive places to rent a car. And finding reasonably priced parking for said car, forget about it!

I was just there and used advantage. For 4 days it was under $200. I purchased basic insurance online thru the website I booked with, carrentals.com I think and used my own auto insurance so I didn’t have to purchase any more. Just make sure you have you auto insurance card.

If you own a car, call ur insurance and ask if they cover you if you are in a rental car as well. Geico does for example. If yours does, you don’t have to buy the expensive coverage the rent a car companies sell. You might have the same deductible as in your own car. Safe money

Not at the airport. If you have a Costco Membership, rates on their travel site are always better than I find elsewhere.

On Kauai, if you're a good swimmer/snorkeler and want to see lots of sea turtles, go in from Beach House Beach in Poipu. (Don't bother with Poipu beach). The hike down the coast from Ke'e beach on the NW side of Kauai (Kalalau trail) is beautiful. From the other side, the Alakai Swamp trail is very cool. Worth checking out Waimea Canyon in the South, and Kileuea Pt. Wildlife Refuge on the NE. Message me if you want more details.
