I've used this place a few times and got really nice arrangements. Seemed pricey to me, but I'm out of touch. http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-flower-girl-san-francisco

Also out of the City, Torres Flowers, I've always gotten beautiful arrangements, hand made wrist corsages for my kid's proms, boutineers, . . . from them. They're a small, family run business near Colma BART http://www.yelp.com/biz/torres-flowers-colma

I loved Podesta & Baldocchi's in SF when I was a kid. . . .especially during the Christmas holidays . . . . . .Norman, why don't you give your cousin Judi (J Annie Nelder-Thompson) a call . . .Annie's Floral Express . . ..she is an award winning professional florist who has been in business for years in Cloverdale and surrounding areas and knows who can supply you with most beautiful flowers in SF. . .. .https://www.facebook.com/156335804404557/photos/a.757810420923756.1073741829.156335804404557/838937362811061/?type=1

There will never be a florist that can compare to Podesta Baldocci. The Grant Ave shop was a show case, the floral designers, the Christmas and Macy's displays were of another time in San Francisco. The world's greatest florist.
Vegas culinary people - need your help! Hello /r/vegas! I'll be in town in November to compete in the World Food Championships and I'm hoping you guys can help me out...

For meat there is only one option from my standpoint. [The Butcher Block](http://www.thebutcherblocklv.com/home.php?xid=fa1 e30 e6 ff3 b34820 faa43 f3314 a73 ad)

For Asian Ingredients try the following: * [Greenland Supermarket](http://www.yelp.com/biz/greenland-supermarket-las-vegas), mostly Korean but good Japanese selections. * [International Market](http://www.yelp.com/biz/international-marketplace-las-vegas-2), pretty big Asian options. There is also a Ranch 99, but the selection isn't nearly as good as the others above.

I competed in the Chef's challenge last year, and I'm going to be judging the bacon competition this year. Feel free to message me with any questions!

I work in food service, produce sucks in the valley as far as retail. I second village meat, I use them for some personal stuff. If you call them they can order whatever you want. Prime all the way around. They stock wagyu and can import real Kobe with enough time frame. If there is anything you can't find PM me what you need and I can source out from my vendors. Micro greens will be hard to find but again I can source if need be. My produce comes from LA daily so if it's anything SUPER special it needs a few days lead time. We can work out details via PM - I used to compete so I know the life. Good luck!
Edit: the restaurant supply I use is either international market or AAA restaurant & bar supply...huge selection.

I go to The Butcher Block (on Rainbow) for my nice cuts of just about anything, they are awesome and accommodating. Seafood City on Maryland is a great Asian market. Being from Hawaii, I find they have a lot of the things standard grocery stores don't carry. Good luck to you.

Village Meat and Wine on Eastern/Trop is also a great store for all things meat... I actually like it a little better than the Butcher Block.

My family has 2 restaurants. We get a lot of our fresh prodoce from Cardenas Market (we go to the location on Meadows Ln.) The produce there is some of the freshest I've seen in town.
Crustin replied:
* 99 Ranch Mart (4155 Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89102) * Nakata Market of Japan (2350 S Rainbow Blvd #6, Las Vegas, NV 89146) * [Restaurant Depot](http://www.restaurantdepot.com/) is a wholesale warehouse for members. Though membership is free, so if you happen to have a business license or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit org.), you can shop there. **However** I didn't know this when I first went there and the kind cashier let me buy my items anyway.
SubCircus replied:
As others have noted, International Marketplace is awesome. They have a good hardware section, as well as crazy rare imported foods. Dammit. Now I'm all hungry
Cassava_Cake replied:
Check out gilcrease orchard's website to see what they have available around November for super fresh produce. Probably yams around that time. Their yams are delicious. Last year they had pumpkin, kale, and beets until the last day of their orchard's year. Which might be the 15 th or 22 nd this year depending on the weather. So if you're looking for seasonal, hit them up. They open only on saturdays, but it looks like the competition falls around then
