Let the wedding planning begin! Seeking venue suggestions for Bay Area. I can finally start planning instead of just lurking! Got engaged to the love of my life a week...

Piedmont Hall- it’s their community center so affordable but also it’s Piedmont so it’s super nice! My friends just had their wedding there. You can get married outside and also do your reception outdoors, or go into the hall. BYOB and BYO catering.
Similarly, Mill Valley Community Center in the North Bay is also supposed to be beautiful.
My coworker also just looked at Berkeley City Club, which handles food and alcohol. He said that they were quoted $17k for 200 people, which is SUPER reasonable for anywhere IMO, but definitely for the Bay Area. They are indoors but I remember going to a wedding here once there’s a covered patio space on the top floor where the ceremony took place. It was nice because you still got beautiful views but don’t need to have a rain plan

The Brazilian Room in Berkeley has a gorgeous patio for the ceremony and an indoor reception space. It’s $4900 for a 12 hr rental. Less if you do a morning to afternoon time slot or 5-12PM slot.

A Unitarian Universalist congregation can be an affordable place to have both your ceremony and non-dry reception. All couples and beliefs are welcome. http://www.uusf.org/general-informationhttps://uucb.org/rentals/ https://uuoakland.org/about-us/location/facility-rentals/ https://uumarin.org/about-us/location/rental/ https://starrking.org/about-us/location/rental/ https://www.mduuc.org/rent-space/ https://www.uufrc.org/rental/ https://www.uucpa.org/about-us/location/rental/

Saratoga Springs (my venue), Hakone Gardens and Deer Park Villa are all very pretty outdoor venues! I wouldn't consider them budget venues but they aren't exorbitant compared to some other ones I've looked at. If you're having a smaller guest list and don't mind some extra DIY work Stern Grove in SF is a great option for outdoors too!

Heather farms is a really good option that’s more on the affordable side. They have a beautiful rose garden and a gazebo. I ended up getting married at Windows on the water in Morro Bay, but heather farms was a good option for us if we chose to get married in the Bay Area.

There are a ton of wineries that work as venues in Brentwood and I've heard they're reasonably priced.

Rengstorff House in Mountain View has really reasonable rates, you have to bring in your own caterer but they have a kitchen area.

Honestly I just made up my planner as I went along. My budget lay out is probably really different to how other people have done it. Some of my planner has specific titles etc, some is just sentences written into an excel spreadsheet. Most wedding websites should have downloadable planners though right? Unless you're looking for something really specific. Ooh, I'm wondering whether the Microsoft office website would have templates?!

I haven't tried any of these but it might be worth a look http://apracticalwedding.com/spreadsheets/

I am using a Wedding Budget Calculator that I downloaded from Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. It's not a full planner but a great tool for organizing my budget: http://www.fcac-acfc.gc.ca/eng/consumers/lifeevents/couple/plan/wedding_cal-eng.asp What other functions are you looking for?
