I paid about 900 cords a vara like Laura said. That is about 1100 cords a meter, until we hit a very hard stone, piedra azul, below water level, then it became much tougher and I had to raise the price. 7 meters should be about $300 bucks. Hand dug wells are much more prone to surface contamination than tube wells, i.e. Greg Carlos, so I would definitely recommend treatment. Quite the different beast 430 tube well, and a shallow hand dug well.
