Thanks Tammi, it helps. I think the woman my husband talked to was confused. The initial quote was 400-900. Then after the exam, my husband called to talk with someone about the cost and they informed him that the original estimate was a mistake and that was the price per tooth. She said the total cost would be around 3,000. I have already seen someone at Caring Hands so I will have the work done there. Thanks for your advice.

The practices I recommend in the area are Evergreen, Animal Clinic of SM and Caring Hands. The price you quoted sounds kinda expensive but may have included blood work, exam and cleaning. Most practices charge oral surgery by the hour. Exam, blood work, dental prophylaxis from without to with oral surgery or extractions usually costs $350-$1000 approx. The best thing you can do for your dogs quality of life especially when they have abscesses teeth. Pet insurance can help alleviate some costs. . Hope this helps.
