Indie Sweets Anyone have any small or independent bakeries, chocolatiers or other sweet makers to rave about? What kind of sweet treats do you guys indulge in?...

The first one that leapt to my mind is French Broad Chocolates from Asheville, NC. I enjoyed them multiple times on a trip to the area and even brought a custom picked box home with me. Their hot chocolate is legit, their filled chocolates range from safe flavors to edgy, and even have a tasty vegan collection. Sooo recommend for a splurge! Someone on this sub turned me on to [the Taffy Shop](https://www.taffyshop.com/), which I can now vouch for as some freaking delicious candy.:)

If you’re a chocolate person I can’t recommend a better place than LA Burdick’s, (which I think would qualify as indie?) It’s a small family-owned business out of New Hampshire which now has a few locations and sells their chocolate online. It’s a little pricey but I’ve never had anything close to this quality. Also they make adorable chocolate mice year-round, penguins for winter, Halloween bats, and elephants for a wildlife charity. Delicious and adorable. For other sweets, I really loved the lollipops I got in one of my Sihaya and Co boxes. They were from a shop on Etsy called Leccare Lollipops, and they were very tasty. They have some interesting flavors, too, and lots of fun combo options if you want to order a bunch.

I'm on mobile and rushing but there is a place in Dallas called Dude, Sweet Chocolate. It's all dark chocolate and the Hanoi Truffle is like crack. Not inexpensive but everything I've tried is amazing and she makes some unique stuff. I have a friend in Dallas and when I visited in October she took me here since the owner is her neighbor. I dropped about $100 with no regrets. Edited to say that they do have an online store. Just too lazy and rushed to grab the link right now:

I don't have anything to contribute at the moment but as a Taurus I'm totally following this thread and really love the idea of adding more of these threads for the 'and more' part of Indie! Supporting small bakeries or just one person selling their delicious foods is something I'm all for :D

I never really thought of sweets as indie but I order from this macaron shop all the time and it seems to be owned by a wife & husband! [Macarooz](http://www.macarooz.com/all-about-macarooz/), this is the lemon lavender mac I referenced recently :D

I highly recommend [Chocolate Storybook](https://www.etsy.com/shop/ChocolateStorybook) for cotton candy. The product is of great quality and they have super interesting (and delicious) flavors. We have also ordered from [Whimsy and Spice](https://www.etsy.com/shop/whimsyandspice). I haven't yet tried their marshmallows, which look amazing, but I have had several types of their cookies as well as their hot chocolate mix. It was all amazing.

https://www.thecandylady.com The candy lady! My favorite thing is the chocolate covered pineapple slices, but they also offer a unique assortment of authentic New Mexican treats, like Green Chile Piñon brittle! They also have a selection of x rated treats like chocolate penises and vulva. We used to dare each other to run into the “back room” and look at all the adult items!

Omg, [BeesBrothers caramels](https://www.etsy.com/shop/beesbrothers) on Etsy!!! If I buy any for a gift, I have to get some myself so I can successfully gift the damn things without eating them all XD I've tried the salted and the chocolate caramels. Soooo good.

I really enjoyed the lollipops from [Lollies by Leah](https://www.etsy.com/shop/LolliesByLeah).
I haven't tried them yet but [PamplemousseSucre](https://www.etsy.com/shop/PamplemousseSucre) has been on my wishlist forever; they mostly have fun lollipops but a few extra other types of goodies are available!
The PB&J cotton candy from [Sugar & Spun](https://www.sugarandspun.com/) was amazing and I'm hoping to try out some of their other flavors!
[Wondermade](https://www.wondermade.com/) is based out of FL (Sanford/Orlando!) and has delicious marshmallows; there are a few staple flavors but they do a lot of seasonal flavors. Bonus: if you're in the area, their shop sells fun ice cream flavors!
I'm obsessed with the offerings from [Makarohn](https://www.ma-ka-rohn.com/). BUTTERBEER MACARONS, YES PLEASE.

Have you gone to local farmer's markets where you live? There's some great chocolate/candy makers that set up at farmer's markets. Stonegrindz is a local favorite of mine, they are pricey but delicious and authentic. Looking at their website apparently they do sell outside of AZ! https://www.stonegrindz.com/locations

Anything from [this place](https://chocopologie.com/) is good. It's pricey, but worth it for special treats.

[Ginger Elizabeth](www.gingerelizabeth.com) They only sell some of their treats online but oh my gosh so good. They also just expanded to a storefront in San Francisco.
