Ballard Kayak has kayak tours at sunset on the Puget Sound, if that’s the kind of thing they may be into. People will frequently see harbor seals from their kayaks. https://www.ballardkayak.com

If anyone has taken a cruise out of Seattle to Alaska, can you give me some tips, recommendations? Planning for August.
Catusa replied:
The thing about taking a cruise out of Seattle to Alaska is that you spend a lot of time getting to Alaska and back from Alaska to Seattle that it eats up a lot of the cruise time so you don't see as much of Alaska as you could on a cruise departing from Alaska. I just saw that Delta has roundtrip fares from Seattle to Alaska in August for 132 roundtrip so if I were you I would probably buy a cheap ticket like that and then take a cruise into/out of Alaska.

If you want some real Alaska check out the Nat Geo trips. I did 5 seasons working on their boats and my goodness, so good. https://www.expeditions.com/destinations/north-america/alaska/the-experience/ Example: Watching humpback whales bubble net feeding, turn the boat around because a pod of orcas going by, and oh look there's a coastal brown bear on the shore behind them. (The big cruise ships don't get to see as much)

Likely the buy-up option on the ship will far surpass any experiences in Juneau, Ketchikan or Skagway. Which cruiseline are you traveling with? The Red Dog Saloon in Juneau is quite touristy, but has a fun ambiance with sawdust on the floor and a peusdo-local vibe. Unfortunately, the towns are really ramped up for tourists, thus the selections are crappy, packed and have poor service.
