Anyone know of a gynecologist in Seoul who is good and fluent in English?

Dr. Sung Http://drsung.wordpress.com/
Carrie H. replied:
Yep, I'll vouch for Dr. Sung too.
Leah D. replied:
Note: Dr. Sung is wonderful (I will vouch for her a hundred times over) but I don't know if most insurance packages will cover the costs and she's more expensive. I know my friend, who is a teacher, went to Mediflower because her insurance covered most of it. I go to Dr. Sung because I don't have insurance period and had a few bad experiences with doctors so I stick with her (though I've never tried Mediflower)
Audrey E. replied:
I echo what Leah says about Dr. Sung. What I like most about her is that she doesn't judge or push "moral values" on anyone. She's really open about stuff and is really realistic. She'll recommend stuff (of course - she's a businesswoman), but won't argue with you if you say no. She can be a bit abrupt.
Anyone have a suggestion for a good orthopedic specialist in Seoul area (within 30 minutes of Yongsan-gu area ) ? . I highly suggest never going to Soonchungyang...

HELLO mothers who live in LC, Can you recommend a good obgyn or midwife in or close to Lincoln City? I am really undecided on what I should do and who I should see.
Jamie B. replied:
I had Dr. Cheek at the hospital here and I really liked him a lot:) when are you due
Brittnay E. replied:

I had Adalind at Bella Vie Gentle Birth Center it is between Salem and McMinnville. The staff is incredible and my experience was wonderful. Desiree LeFave is a wonderful midwife, but if you want to stay closer to the coast I would go with Cindi (if you are looking to go natural) You can totally do it Kay
Lea C. replied:
I had my daughter at the hospital here in LC. Dr Cheek was very good. So were the nurses at the hospital. Good luck!
Tiara H. replied:

Cassie A. replied:
Hi Kay! I had both my kids at SNLH. It isn't dirty but is small. There are some fantastic nurses and some not so good. I had Dr. Thompson- he's a family doc and is very nice but very busy and al Ist a but unorganized. Dr. Cheek is very good too. ...See More
Tabitha A. replied:
Cindy Luxford all the way!!!! She has the best bedside manner and the birth center is beautiful and private. And you can have a water birth there!!
Can anyone recommend a good English speaking OBGYN in Shin Jeju?
Erin G. replied:
The woman at Hanna Clinic is good BUT she can be super judgy if you are not married. (She asked me if I was cheating on my boyfriend because I wanted a pap smear and when I said no she said 'Oh so your boyfriend is cheating on you.' and implied it was because I was fat). She is also known for sharing personal information without consent. (She told an employer about an employee's medical condition without the employee's consent) So basically, proceed with caution. Cynthia Loiselle can probably direct you more than anyone else here so I would talk to her.
Sean F. replied:
Terry Erickson but he has been out of the game for a few years...
Ashlie C. replied:
Hanna Clinic across from Emart in Nohyeong.
Kathy H. replied:
One of our teachers had an AWFUL experience at Hanna Clinic.

I've had a good bit of experience with the medical community here and I can tell you that most read and write a bit of English but not at all do. I had a bladder infection for 3 and 1/2 months before it was cleared up due to them not wanting to do a culture and then not prescribing the right drugs. My son is an ER physician in the U. S. and I was a workers' compensation adjuster for 30 years so I know a good bit about medical treatment. I would fly to Seoul before going to Halla. At S-Jungang hospital there is a good OBGYN. I had an English speaking physician with me when I was there and I hesitate to give out his info here. He is thinking about opening a clinic for foreigners. I am encouraging him to do so for this very reason.
