Looking to go to Disney Tokyo during Chuseok break. Would it be better to plan with a travel agent here in Seoul or best do it on our own? If with travel agent,...
Stephen B. replied:
easy enough to do on your own...book through a Korean site like onlinetour.co.kr as 99% of the time it`s usually cheaper than an agent....but if you really need a travel agent then I`d highly recommend Soho Travel who are prompt with replies and speak English well.

Soho travel rocks- Jeong Ho consistently gives me the lowest price tickets year after year.
Considering Jeju or Seoraksan for an impromptu trip this holiday weekend (no school Friday!). Any advice? Good places to stay? Best travel route? Please and thanks.
Alicia G. replied:
Are you flying to Jeju or taking the ferry? I recommend staying at Sum Guesthouse. It's a really great price, they provide free breakfast, and it's right across the street from the bus terminal (which is the cheapest way to get around Jeju). Now would be an ideal time for hiking Hallasan!
Alicia G. replied:
Yes, here is their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/jejusum and their email is sumjejudo@naver.com I booked my room on bookings.com, but you could probably just email them. They speak English. They can also arrange tour packages for reasonable prices. Definitely a great place to stay!
Alicia G. replied:
Oh, and you might look into this: https://www.facebook.com/events/503260183085500/ I think you may have to be a member of the group When in Korea to view it, but it's a tour group that's set up a 4 day trip to Jeju for 300,000. I've went on trips with them before, and they're always really good.

I think the tour is also open to Korean nationals, but you do need to book well in advance. Here is the Koridoor website: http://www.koridoor.co.kr/bbs/board.php?bo_table=travelInfo&wr_id=260&sca=JSA%2FDMZ. This WikiTravel page also lists a few companies that go into the JSA: http://wikitravel.org/en/Panmunjeom. I love travelling with Wink, but I think getting into the JSA, if possible, is definitely worth it!!

For Jeju I would just book online, far cheaper than any agent....Jeju Air and Eastar Jet being the cheapest......then the usual suspects Korean Air/ Asiana.... If you really want to go through a travel agent then I second Soho Travel.

Stephen B. replied:
Soho Travelhttp://sohoholiday.com/: are well known to be very good with prices and get back promptly. However, Korean websites like www.onlinetour.co.kr I have found are the cheapest in price (compared to western sites like kayak / expedia etc) or the airline`s own website.

Discounts and sale are things of luck to find. Travel agency charges only a little bit more and you can email them and they take care of everything. You just send them travel you want and passport info plus photo of it. You can pick a specific flight and time or just give them dates and ask for the cheapest. I warn you of one risk: If you miss your flight for any reason even airline reschedule, they won't change your ticket without agency changing it or will ask you to call airline company. But if you are nice to staff counter you can probably be allowed to catch the next flight similar to yours. This happened to me both times I used it, normally if you book alone they will let you catch the next flight. Trains it won't matter and probably bus won't either as long as there are seats. Agency doesn't matter just search for them.

Pattaya is horrible. Don't go unless you want to be surrounded by creepy men and sketchy girls. Samui, koh tao, koh lan, almost any island you visit will be great. Are you by yourself or with a friend? Trying to find buses ferries etc etc from your computer at home will be a headache. Once you get there it will be much mucb easier than you would expect! Just follow the crowd and keep asking "bus to (whereever)". It's less scary with a friend, but do-able alone. I always find friends to travel with on couchsurfing. There are a lot of great friendly travelers in Thailand! Best of luck~ Www.nokair.com cheap domestic thai flights http://m.sawadee.com/ cheap hotel/bungalow/whatever
