What I always find funny about these posts is that the poster doesn't specify what kind of DJ, as if all DJ's are the same. In fact, I know some great DJ's that don't do weddings well because they do not handle the transitions and announcements well. I know other DJs who are great with announcing and have awesome equipment but if you want new rap and hip hop, don't the difference in Drake and Future. Just because someone made you dance at the bar in Eminence doesn't make them a great wedding DJ. A great wedding DJ will consult with the couple on the timeline of the entire event. But a great KNOWS how the event will unfold successfully, so he/she won't let the bride/groom do stuff that will sabotage the party. A great wedding DJ understands that weddings are all ages and even know you the bride don't want to hear the Electric Slide, a great wedding DJ knows your redneck aunt can't wait to hear it and will bug he/she until it's played. So when you say no Electric Slide, a great DJ will explain why you should rethink that or at least play as requested. Anyhow, Facebook is a land of vague requests anyhow, this should be know different. Here are some of my favs: "Looking for a great place to have a wedding" What's your budget? How many people? Time of year? "Need a great photographer" Of what? I know a great cattle photographer, not so good for family photos.
