At Shippensburg University, the preschool is located next to the Luhrs Elementary. Head Start is located at the Spiritual Center. You can call 477-1626 for information about Head Start which serves 3-5 year olds. That number can also give you information about the pre-K programs since they administer them. Call 477-1792 for information on the Bartos Child and Family Center on campus.

Trinity Daycare in Walnut Bottom is amazing - they teach the kids from infant to pre-k and their standards are aligned to prep the kids to PA state kindergarten entry for Big Spring and Ship. My son goes there now - absolutely love the teachers in the infant room!

Any recommendations on daycare in Shippensburg, or Chambersburg? It would be for a two year old and an eight month old. Flexible hours would probably be needed.

Kids Kount hands down. Professional and educated staff. The teachers have degrees in early childhood education or hold a CDA certification. They are a Keystone star 3 center. Definitely worth a visit to see for yourself and meet the staff. You will not be disappointed.

Camp Shine is run through the SACC program. The boys have loved it. Sign ups usually start in April... It's not cheap, but they do lots of trips and activities with the kids. And it's always held at either Grayson or the Intermediate School. I think it changes each year or two. You don't have to do SACC to be able to sign them up.
Janelle C. replied:
The boys and girls club. Contact Cressa Coldsmith. There is also a camp at Southampton park. Contact Bernie.
