At Shippensburg University, the preschool is located next to the Luhrs Elementary. Head Start is located at the Spiritual Center. You can call 477-1626 for information about Head Start which serves 3-5 year olds. That number can also give you information about the pre-K programs since they administer them. Call 477-1792 for information on the Bartos Child and Family Center on campus.

To add and clarify what the others here are saying regarding the Shippensburg University Head Start Program, we now serve children ages 0 through 4 (and 5, should the child's Date of Birth fall outside of the cutoff Kindergarten cutoff date of Sept. 1 st). Children 0-2 (and/or pregnant mothers) will be part of the Early Head Start Program, which, as mentioned above, is a Home-based program. This means that one of our Home Visitors will schedule a reoccurring meeting time with you several times a month to provide services within the home, as well as holding two "Socializations" per month. Socializations are, basically, what they sound like: everyone gets together for a few hours in one of our on or off-site classrooms. Unfortunately, I'm just the tech guy, so that's about all the detail I can go into. But, if you (or anyone you know looking for Pre-K services) are interested, please don't hesitate to call (717) 477-1626. We're in our summer months, so I don't know who's all there at the moment (I'm on break, myself), but I encourage you to call and ask for Linda (the Director), Jeff (the Assistant Director), Mandy (the "Education Manager"), or Betsy (the "Enrollment Manager"). Have a great summer, everyone!
