so while it's on my mind, does anybody have any restaurant/deli recommendations for places to hit in Midtown Manhattan?
Chris S. replied:
I second that recommendation for cheesecake at Juniors'. Shake Shack is like the NY In-N-Out Burger. For a fancier burger go to Burger Joint hidden in the Le Parker Meridien Hotel. The Halal Guys food cart at 53 rd & 6 th is the stuff of legend. I always have to stop there at least twice during any NYC trip. The best pizza is at DiFara but Lombardis makes a good pie too. You might dig Amys Bread in Chelsea Market(thats where the food network studios and test kitchen are located). Hot dog combo at Papaya King is also a great go-to for any new yorker or out of towner. If you want something more foodie, Crif Dogs is where its at. Nancy might like the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity3 thats kind of romantic. For Delis I know you already had Carnegie so I would recommend Katz Deli instead. Thats where they filmed that famous scene from When Harry Met Sally... http://youtu.be/F-bsf2 x-aeE

Angela's Sandwich Shop. I belive it is on 6 th, near 58 th. It's about a half block south of Central Park, near the pond. Good prices and BEST sammiches!!
New China Express! We went there recently for take out and it was sooooo good! On Thorndyke

http://www.chensvillageseattle.com/ Chen's Village on Elliot Ave (right about where it meets Mercer), is pretty yummy. I've heard it's a little dumpy looking, but we always get it delivered. We judge our Chinese delivery on the tastiness of the crab rangoon, and it's the best we've found so far.

Beijing cuisine on greenwood and 144 is AWESOME! Crispy chicken, pot stickers, and prawn with snow peas are favs. They deliver. After 6 years here, I am so excited to find great Chinese. http://www.yelp.com/biz/beijing-chinese-cuisine-seattle

I forgot one of our new faves - Fu Man Dumpling House on Greenwood. Mmmmm!
Devon S. replied:
Have to add Red Lantern in the ID. Great food...amazing pot stickers. Uptown China a close second...but smallish portions and higher prices.

Chef Liao on Phinney
Danielle A. replied:
It's totally divey, and when you walk in it feels like a chinese restaurant out of the 70 s, but the take out is pretty great, very classic chinese like what you may have grown up with: Golden City, just a block off Market Street in Ballard.
Diana M. replied:
Honey Court in the ID
Sarah J. replied:
Chef Liao close to home, and Shanghai Garden in the ID is hands down the best in Seattle.
I'm looking for recommendations for a good Chinese restaurant someplace between Everett and Southcenter. Maybe in Seattle without parking issues? Not too pricy but tasty...
Melissa P. replied:
Also, Chinoise Cafe in Queen Anne, it's pan-Asain, so, not traditional Chinese but fancy and yummy!
Claire G. replied:
Snappy Dragon is good, Chengs on Lake City but I love Fu Shen on Aurora.
Kay S. replied:
Sea Garden in china town. But if u like sushi, Hana Sushi n downtown Bothell is fabulous. My husband and I go there once a month. My favorite, but China town is the best place for Chinese food .
Highly recommend to those who want to improve cooking skills and anyone dumb enough to quit job to start a restaurant. To be clear, I am not trying to be like White. ...
Great way to start Les' birthday evening night out, a speeding ticket! Ugh :0(
Anyways... Can anyone recommend a restaurant in the key arena area? Not too spendy and not...
