Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician in Murfreesboro or Smryna area? I am not liking the one we have now.
Tabitha L. replied:
Dr McCollum he is awesome with all mine
Nina W. replied:
Murfreesboro Medical Center has some amazing pediatrics
Deborah B. replied:
Grace Pediatrics in Smyrna, we see Dr. Hughes, however, they are all caring, compassionate, understanding, non-judge mental and most importantly, take time to hear your concerns, while respecting the families and allowing to actively participate in the medical decisions. Also, the staff is beyond efficient, friendly and proficient. I highly recommend Grace Pediatrics. http://www.gracepeds.com/

Dr. Libby Long Tenn Peds... Murfreesboro 890-9008 She is AWESOME!!!
Mary M. replied:
I love Dr. McCollum with Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics. What's great about him is he is also a family dr so if baby is sick and mom is sick he can treat both instead of going to several different drs. Plus he has great nurse practitioners who specialize in peds and are great about getting kids in ASAP. Also convenient offices in Smyrna or the boro.
Latasha B. replied:
We take our 3 to Heather Phillips at Tennessee Medicine and Pediatrics. They're all super sweet there.
Dawn W. replied:
Dr Coleman at MMC absolutely LOVE her

I work at capstone pediatrics in Murfreesboro as a supervisor and Jane an Dianne both are leaving due to personal preference. They will be replaced with another awesome provider but they will definitely be missed. Dr bogus and dr veera are both great providers. Dr veera is from a different culture and doesn't mean to sound rude but sometimes it comes off that way. As far as the circumsicion goes each child is different and responds to procedures differently but to say she messed it because it bled is not messing it up! It is surgery which in tern is going to bleed. Holding ur child down to receive a shot is a necessity not a torture. We can't give shots and hold the child at the same time. That puts ur child at risk for jerkin away and possibly breaking the needle off in the injection shot. So we do that for safety and having u hold their hands is a help to us and a comfort to the child. Not tryin to be rude I'm just trying to be helpful. I am the nursing supervisor and if I can help you in any way please doing hesitate to call. 849-1717

Erika D. replied:
Yeah I would recommend Dr. Henschel at Tennessee pediatrics. He's been real good and gives u a full explanation of what u need and what to expect from a shot or any other problem u might encounter with your child. As a mother of 4 kids, my best advice to anyone is to hold down ur child when getting a shot unless u want ur child to jump around with a needle on their arm and get injured!!! No Child likes needles but if u want ur child to be healthy then there are things that need to be done to get there....

We go to Centennial Pediatrics and see Jane Miller or Dr. Bogus. Hate to hear she is leaving. Love Dr. Bogus. Also Dr. Mockrin from the Smyrna office. Stay away from Dr. Butler at Tennessee Pediatrics. She is a fluke. She misdiagnosed a Mongolian spot (type of birth mark for a bruise), said my daughter had a fractured femur AND called DCS on us and we were under investigation. After 3 months it was unfounded and we had the documentation to prove it. BIGGEST nightmare ever.

Grace Peds is on Sam Ridley by publix. She is super laid back and all the kiddos loooove her. I saw a pic the other day of her doing a headstand with a kid during an exam. She is really supportive and will give you all the info you want. Very supportive of breastfeeding and knowledgeable- which is super helpful, too. If you deliver at Stonecrest, she will be there the next morning to see Charlie first thing!

I love Dr Christopher Thompson as well, he is a family Dr. though. He delivered Noah and was his Dr until he was 2. He is still my Dr., but I changed Noah to Dr. Joseph Little in Murfreesboro. The reason was that when Noah got sick during weekends they would always tell me to take him to ER. Dr. Little office will open on weekends if your child is really sick. They go out of there way to come and see your child they don't want you to go to ER. All the Dr. In that office is awesome. He was my Dr as well when I was little. Love him!!!! He is very good exspecially with premies and very old fashion Dr. Hard to find one like that today.
