Where Lady and the pit used to be is now a Mexican gordita place. Kellys smokes some awesome corned beef. I haven't heard great things about the new bbq place El Toro in PI. The best recommendation I have is drive to Lockhart and go to Blacks BBQ.

The only place that know that serves brisket (and other smoked food) is El Toro in PI (catty corner from Dairy Queen behind the Taco restaurant).

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I will contact & visit these places to see what they have to offer. Also great to have the name of a good caterer......Karla Scimeca. It will be awhile before we get to that stage of planning. First option for a venue would be in Brownsville but places are getting more difficult to find and the venue needs to be chosen first.
