Here's the link to the group of midwives I used and then delivered at the Alternative Birth Center at Providence Hospital. The midwives are fantastic; very personal, supportive and attentive. And they assist you in having the best birth possible, empowering you and supporting you. I cannot say enough great things about them! http://www.theabcunit.com/about-us/meet-our-midwives/ The ABC Unit » Meet Our Midwives www.theabcunit.com As Certified Nurse Midwives our expertise is both nursing and midwifery; we care for essentially healthy women during their reproductive years.

I'm high risk so I have to see a regular OB but I love my doctor. His name is Chad White and the name of the practice is Comprehensive Woman's Care. The whole staff is really great. Good luck:)

The Providence Nurse Midwives and the ABC unit are AMAZING. they have Meet the Midwife event periodically (every other month) where you can learn about them and the birth center. Can't really comment on the differences because I never saw a Doctor while pregnant:)

I think all the doctors offices are like that now. You can only go to Urgent Care or the Emergency room!! Stupid. I'll bet Josh feels awful...so sorry he's sick.
Cheryl W. replied:
At the doctors' office where I go, there are both male and female doctors. I saw Dr. Burdi once too, and I really liked him a lot - he's great! I used to see another doctor in his office, and when I was sick once, Dr. Burdi saw me because my regular doctor was not available. I wanted a doctor closer to home, though, because when I'm sick I don't want to drive that far. Hope he's feeling better!
