Dr. Edwards, Dr. Farley, Dr. Reichman, and Dr. Gaufin are neurosurgeons not neurologists. If you’re looking for a great neurologist with great bedside manner see Dr. Joseph Watkins. 801-357-7401

Does anyone know of an amazing neurologist in the Utah valley who specializes in spinal surgery and keeps up on cutting-edge technology? I expect I'll likely need...
Jessie C. replied:
Howard Riechman is the best at Utah valley
Ann H. replied:
Dr. Howard Reichman is the best.
Rebecca M. replied:
I had back surgery 4 Mo ago. I went to Dr David Smith, hes in the same office as Dr Reichman. He's young (maybe late 30's) and got me into surgery within a week. My back is phenomenal now. I liked him because he WAS younger and up to date on everything.
Annette G. replied:
Dr Chad Farley for sure! He did my mother-in-law who flew here from back East to go to him. He was careful enough to have her do physical therapy first for enough weeks to get her strong enough to handle her recovery physical therapy. Her recovery has been smooth. He did a great job.
Dana P. replied:
Dr Chad Farley. He is new to the area (he has only lived here a few years) but is phenomenal. Extremely detail oriented.
Lee M. replied:
Dr Farley just fixed my back, if I would have waited to TRY and get in to the others it would have been months. Farley got me in his office quick and within 10 days I had surgery. It's only been 3 weeks but I'm doing great after my fusion. Dr Chad Farley is awesome and he really cares about his patients, he even came up to my room while I was waiting, in between his other surgeries to talk to me. Highly recommended by this guy!
DeeAnn B. replied:
Dr. Gardiner is the best.
Frank K. replied:
Dr Ken Yonemura is a wonderful caring Surgeon. I first met him at the U.of U. Hospital but he is now in private practice. He shows you how to read the various X-Rays & Scans. One time he was in LA and responded to an emergency call from me at 2:30 in the morning .... I ended up being admitted to a Hospital that night and Dr Yonemura took care of the Admit and other details over the phone including getting the pain under control. I don't know any other Doctor who would go that far in the middle of the night. He also does Epidural injections on Spinal Nerves. Usually you just get whatever Doc is on at the Imaging facility. His Office is in Salt Lake but it is well worth the drive. (435)200-1196
Jennifer L. replied:
Dr Reichman put me back together
Mashell A. replied:

Clint M. replied:
Dr. John Edwards. He's in the physicians plaza behind utah valley. He did my fusion in November and it's the best decision I could have made! I wish I would have done it sooner! He used all the newest tech. He decided to do the surgery at the new hospital in Lehi because of the new technology. It was great! I would recommend him over and over! Not the best personality or bed side manor, but an amazing and brilliant surgeon!!!
Becca H. replied:
Dr Chad Farley is incredible! He was a top student in his class he is soooo concerned about you and I beilieve at least 2 years ago when I had my surgery he was the only one doing micro discectiomies. He treats you like his only patient even though he's crazy booked. I've met a number of people that he's fixed richeman and others mistakes. Also he has you go through about a one hour training before surgery with physical and occupational therapist to train you before hand, how to get up and move around post op. The nurse that does the training also checks up on you before and after surgery to make sure you are being taken care of. Lastly the accommodations are much larger like you have a personal room big enough for a cot if you having someone staying at the hospital with you. They will feed your person staying with you at no extra cost. Utah Valley is a nightmare for recovery. The rooms are so small the bed hardly fits into the room there is like a small closet like only the bed fits which means the staff has to crawl over you to do there job if they answer your call at all. Mt View is so much better. No I don't work for any of these people. If you have any question feel free to PM me. I've had loads of surgeries because of a severe connective tissue disorder I have. Any way good luck!
Contact the Amy Condit Lilly family as Cassandra Lilly Holt suffered the same. Our prayers are with you all!
Mark V. replied:
If you can get to SL county, my son see's Dr. Kathryn Kathryn J Swoboda! She is amazing!
BrittanyandBrandon A. replied:
Dr. Reichman! He did my sister's neck surgery...other doctors have seen her neck and now call it a "work of art." Lots of prayers and love.
Becky P. replied:
Dr. Reichman did one of my back surgeries after I had Connor as well. I am just devastated to hear this news. My prayers are with you and with darling Annalece. I believe in miracles.
Michael B. replied:
Randy, sending you and your family love and prayers. I would be more than happy to host you here if you want to come to Mayo Clinic. Some of the best neurologists and neurosurgeons are here.

Dr Reichman is in our stake presidency. He did my cousin's surgery and was excellent. Also have a niece who works in his office. He comes highly recommended.
Marissa S. replied:
Dr. Reichert up in SLC has been the most helpful and aggressive neurologist in helping me. Sending prayers! Love you.
Laurie P. replied:
Dr Reichman has a reputation as the most excellent and highly sought after neurosurgeon around. Two members of my extended family were lucky to have him work on them. I don't know what his practice includes outside of surgery. Our prayers are with sweet Annelece and all of you!
Melony O. replied:
Lucia Altamirano! She is my neurologist. Here's her # 1-801-229-1054 she's in Riverwoods. May God bless Annalece and your family. She is in my prayers!
Kurt B. replied:
Randy - my heart aches for you and your family. But, I am sure that the gifts and talents of Utah's many fine doctors and therapists will help you all see better days ahead. While Dr. Riechman is an amazing neurosurgeon, I am sure he could refer you to the best neurologist in the area. There are also some world-renowned specialists at the U of U Hospital. Peace ~ Kurt
Lance L. replied:
Dr Reichman is awesome or his assistant Dave Glassford. Getting in to see these guys is extremely difficult. But if your in the hospital they should be able to get you right over. Prayers sent Randy for you and your wife. Love you guys!
Kimberly R. replied:
Randy, I see Dr Gardner at the neurological clinic in Provo by the hospital. Same offices that Dr Riechman is in as well.
Alexis A. replied:
My aunt Melodie Bestor used Dr. Gaufin for both of her girls and they love him! Praying for you guys.
Teresa R. replied:
Dr Altimarono. Probably not spelled right but you get the idea. She has her quirks but is an excellent doctor.
Debbie W. replied:
Randy Boothe Sorry to hear about Annalece. I have gone to the Utah neurological Clinic in Provo for years. I especially love working with the NP there, David Glassford. Everyone I know thinks he is just the best! It is located in the medical building on the east side of UVRMC (Utah Valley Hospital). It's on the 4 th floor. Our prayers are with your whole family.

Dr. Farley just removed my brain tumor. He and his staff are top notch.

Chad Farley
Cambria A. replied:
Dr. Gardner is wonderful and has a good bedside manner. Dr. Reichman is an amazing surgeon and terrible bedside manner. Both are a good choice and have low infection rates. I have taken care of many of their patients. Edwards infection rates are too high for me and I would not choose him, IMHO.
Lacey W. replied:
Chad Farley is amazing!
Leslie B. replied:
Lynn Gaufin did my back surgery and he was amazing!
Janet O. replied:
John Edwards!!
Alys O. replied:
Dr Smith was great! He did my daughters brain surgery a little over three weeks ago.

Paul Gardner is good, his staff sucks quite badly, however. I would not go back to him for that reason.
Marcie I. replied:
Howard Reichman all the way. He is the BEST!!! He did my husbands brain tumor surgery and was wonderful
Austin-Amberdaun M. replied:
Reichman and Gaufin you can't go wrong. I have also been to John Edwards who is the same offixe and he is awesome as well.
Recommendations for a pediatric neurologist? Thank you.
Beth S. replied:
I took my daughter to Dr. Clint Nelson at Rock Canyon Pediatric Specialists in Provo. He really listened and diagnosed a problem that had been misdiagnosed by our regular doctor. I liked him a lot.
Melissa E. replied:
Dr. Clint Nelson is who my 15 yo daughter was referred to (we haven't been yet though). A friend of mine also was referred to him and took her 7 year old last week and she said he was fabulous.
Taralyn M. replied:
