Contact Diane Schaub. She is my old midwife based in Reno. She attended my birth even though I was a bit early to technically be "ok" to deliver. I would trust her to let things progress naturally. I honestly think I would of had a c-section if she had not been my midwife. Great lady! *If* this momma is comfortable with the idea of trying her vba2 c at home, it wouldn't hurt to contact Lenny Sue Tinseth. With my first pregnancy, I went to Dr. Bruce Faringer@Sierra Women's Health. He is pretty open to more natural births, and he *might* be worth a phone call.

Katja W. replied:
Try Tahoe Forest women's center in Truckee. Only 30 minutes away and they were amazing to work with and the hospital in Truckee is awesome.
Melinda P. replied:
Being a Baby Friendly Hospital, I wonder if she'd have any better luck at Carson Tahoe with the on call resident, if she's willing to travel there:/
Liz O. replied:
I know some moms who have VBAC'd at Sutter Davis.
Tesla P. replied:
It IS illegal to turn patient away, Dr Garcia was willing to take me as a vba2 c, I didn't end up going with him, but he was willing to take me on. I don't know about Diane, but she was a great midwife willing to to take a vba2 c as well. I've heard that st. Mary's is actually becoming more vbac friendly than Renown. She can walk into a hospital in labor and she cannot be denied care
Jessica D. replied:
I know it's a hell of a distance but I just had a successful VBA2C on August 3 rd with Dr. Silver at U of U hospital here in Salt Lake City, and the hospital is totally VBAC friendly as well as breast feeding only friendly. I out of my insurance network to have my little girl naturally.

Sheri W. replied:
Melinda, baby friendly is awesome, but unfortunately baby friendly does not always mean VBAC friendly. Carson Tahoe has a VBAC ban. Renown / St. Mary's will be better hospital options for a VBAC mama:)
Sheri W. replied:
Just so we are all supporting birth with evidence based care information, here is a great site for VBAC information (for example, "big baby" and going beyond due date do not significantly increase risk for rupture, and beyond due date does not mean baby is "too big") VBACFACTS.com

Dr Garcia, Dr klose and dr mcgaw all were my drs when I delivered my son 14 years ago. The nurse wanted me in the or for a c-section and dr klose calmed her down and said he was going to give me more time. An hour later dr Garcia delivered my son. And didn't even tear. They were great doctors.
Crystal S. replied:
Someone posted on here that Dr. Garcia took them on and they went to St Mary's and the on-call OB (Dr. Klaich) delivered her baby. Dr. Larry Klaich was my OB and I delivered a ten pound baby boy a week late. I don't have any advice other than you shoul...See More

I'd definitely suggest calling Women's Health Specialists of Nevada Dr. Garcia and Dr. Klose are awesome. And their 2 midwives are great. With a VBAC you'd have to have an MD, though. Call the office and let them know what a bind you're in. I'm interested in knowing who the practitioner is. Showing up in labor is risky because you don't know who the on call MD is and that is a SERIOUS gamble.
Can anyone recommend a good doctor in Sparks? A GP is what we are looking for.
