Dr. Ann Bynum and her staff are wonderful with kids with special needs. They have a private room if needed and they are compassionate and patient. Most of all Dr. Bynum's work is top notch. I don't know what sedation she offers but I highly recommend her practice. http://hollytreepediatricdentistry.com/

Dr Mark Muncy, pediatric dentistry, will place her under gen anesthesia (as I understand), which causes amnesia.

Mary Crockett was our go to, but she no longer accepts our private ins or Medicaid. My son os 14 yo and it took us forever to be able to do anything in the office. Everything had to be done under general anesthesia. That being said, last year we were able to use nitrous to settle him and then do a filling and cleaning in office. There is a shot, but they will rub the gel lidocaine on first to numb it, my son never felt the shots. We have an appt next week with Dr Amy Green at Carolina Pediatric Dentistry in Spartanburg. We have heard great things about her.
Melody C. replied:
Dr Mary Crockett is awesome with my autistic son. He was terrified of dentists until we met her. She gave hydroxizine(atarax) to help relax him

I know we've talked about it before (and this isn't for me) but who is the pediatric dentist that will cut lip/tongue ties?
Linda W. replied:
Ashby Park Dentistry, Dr Jennifer will do it

Dr Michaels is worth the drive. He is one if the few dentists that will take a lip tie seriously. He is amazing. Bakery had speech issues as well. Hers healed PERFECTLY, had a checkup Friday!
Meredith W. replied:
We saw Dr. Hahn in Columbia. Both he and Dr. McMurtry in Charlotte are on the recommended provider list in tongue tie support group. Both use laser.

I didn't like Carolina Pediatric Dentistry, nor did my friend. We both were told our kids had cavities and it would cost $600+ to be filled. Both of us got second opinions - her son only had a couple cavities, did not have to have over a $1000 in denta l work and my kiddo had no cavities. I would be very careful it seems as though some ped dentists are in it for big $$. We go to Dr. Conner/Dr. Sealy in Gastonia and my kids actually look forward to going to the dentist smile emoticon Sorry I typed Spartanburg dentistry on accident but I looked it up to make sure it is the one with Dr. Green.
Ok Spartanburg mommies, I need a good Pediatric Dentist. Let me know who you use
and why. Thanks!

Dr Birch!! That's where I take Peyton and I worked with him at another dentist office. He's extreme good work children!!
Angela B. replied:
Dr. Birch at Spartanburg Pediatric Dentistry. He's great. Toys to play with in the front waiting area, though we've never waited more than a few minutes. The room is open in the back where the cleanings happen and you can see what's going on and talk to the hygienist and Dr. Birch as they are working/checking over your child. VERY kid friendly as Amanda, Kendra, and Jennifer have all said. I take Leah and Joshua at the same time and can see what's going on with both
Meredith K. replied:
Dr. Birch is amazing. His dogs come to work with him too which my kids love !!!
Meghan S. replied:
dr. michael at Foothills Pediatric Dentistry. they have a super patient and amazing staff. dr. michael is a great christian guy who explains everything well, remembers you, and doesn't force the kids to do anything they're not ready to do (and my middle one is about as awful as a child can be at the dentist but they never make me feel like we're doing something wrong. they're super patient!)
As of January, 2016, Dr. Mary Crockett will no longer bill Medicaid. Anybody have a recommendation for a pediatric dentist in the Greenville area that still bills...
