I second with Jen Gamble. If they are honey bees, PLEASE don't kill them. They help pollinate and are desperately needed. If they are obviously yellow and black though, it sounds like they may be hornets or yellow jackets, in which case, KILL THEM! I'm sure a pest guy can tell you either way, and give you a number to a bee keeper who would gladly remove them for free if they are honey bees.
