A friend is seeking a Springfield restaurant that offers 'whole' or 'organic' food. Any recommendations?

Taqueria Moroleon has the best street tacos. Little Saigon is good Vietnamese (great pho). Monicals is as close to IMO’s as you can get. Centennial park has some good running. Also Allerton Park is about an hour away but is truly an experience.

We don’t have a ton for entertainment, but we do have Open Mics at Craft on Mondays and Bar None on Wednesdays. There’s the occasional underground art thing going on, but you just gotta follow all of the relevant FB pages. If you follow Downtown Springfield Inc. (DSI) on Facebook, they usually post about events. Plenty of people have mentioned Obed’s, but no one has mentioned that William Vans next door is the best coffee shop in town to lounge in. I’ve heard good things about Graba Java but never go there. A lot of people will recommend Headwest for subs, but Monty’s made sandwiches on sweet bread first and are better, IMHO. I second everyone that Little Saigon is the best place for most Asian foods, but especially pho. Happy Sushi is the best sushi, but he’s closed very often (high turnover rate because he’s kind of abusive to his staff =\). We just lost our other decent sushi place downtown, so if you want good sushi, you gotta go to either Hunan (which, as others have said, is mediocre). My favorite upscale sushi is Mimosa’s. Their Three Musketeers roll is gorgeous and delicious (but very expensive). Flavor of India is definitely the place to go for a good Indian Buffet. I go there almost once a week for their goat curry. It’s a steal since the lunch buffet is only $10. If you’re into hipster-y lunch fare, Long Nine Junction is doing some cool and creative things with home-y American dishes. Prairie Archives is the only used book store worth going to. Springfield Vintage has a well-curated, ever changing stock of neat vintage finds. If you’re into alternative (mostly hippie & music) culture of almost any kind, Penny Lane is a Springfield classic. It’s worth checking out even if not. On Wabash, we have the Asian Market (relatively new and decent stock), and Mexican and Indian markets have both opened, but I haven’t checked them out yet. Don’t try to do everything quickly though because you will very soon find that you run out of things to do. We’re growing culturally, but at a snail’s pace.

Washington Park, on the west side, is quite lovely. Has a carillon (bell tower played like a keyboard,) rose garden, some good playgrounds, tennis courts... It's great to walk around in!
Movie theaters, have an IMAX on the far west side (AMC 12,) and a swankier AMC with alcohol and awesome seats on the east side.
Ton of Abraham Lincoln stuff, most of it is worth doing at least once. [[Continued...]](https://www.resavr.com/comment/taking-any-all-recommendations-10748480)

The Lincoln Presidential museum is really cool. I suggest all the Lincoln sites. (Lincoln’s home, New Salem, Lincoln’s tomb) Darcy’s has been mentioned. Obed and issacs is good down town, but I like Finley’s Taphouse on the west end.

Fox run and Dublin pub have the best horseshoes. You're new here? Get a horseshoe no later than day 5.
Tabletop gamer? Die hard games is great game store. Good atmosphere, the guy who runs it is super nice. Great place.
Like wings? Showmes is pretty good, wing stop is great. Wings etc is an ok place but not my go to.
We have a ton of great pizza places. Cozs is my favorite. Dillon's is awesome and you can eat in at the bar next door. Nancy's is good deepdish Chicago style. Antonio's is our best chain. Gabatonis is a great pizza joint with great pasta.
Burgers are good at boone saloon and Dublin pub.
Best cafe is incredibly delicious. They have handmade French style desserts, fresh baked bread, and good lunches. The menu changes every day so be sure to check today's menu online.
Centennial park is a nice park but it's out of the way.
Best Chinese in town is at china star. It's a little hole in the wall but its fantastic, cheap, and fast.
