Hey St. Louis, I'm having some (maybe pretty serious) car problems, and I need to get my car to a dealership. Can anyone recommend a good Ford dealer, preferably south...

Stay far away from McMahon.

I do all my own work except tire mounting, wheel balancing, alignments and transmission rebuilds. Thus I'm really not so great at giving suggestions of where to take you car, however I am pretty good at fixing them. What's wrong with your car? What is it doing or not doing? The only shop suggestion I can give is Ecotech on Watson Rd. Misha (the owner) is a real stand-up dude in my opinion. I know him through rally racing.

Grays in Richmond Heights. Great guys, cannot recommend enough.

If you want to drive a bit Robert's Ford in Alton, Illinois treated me alright. I didn't actually buy a Ford Focus and went with a Chevy Cruze instead, but they were pretty helpful and were pretty generous on the trade in of my old shitty car. They offered me a 1,000 for it when it blue booked for 1,600, but my car had A LOT of problems and was probably only worth scrap at that point, by comparison the Alton Toyota dealer only offered me 250.

It may be down the highway a ways from you, but Reuther Ford in Herculaneum is down hwy 55: [website](http://reutherauto.com/)

Dealers will rip you off, especially if you did not buy the car from them. I've been ripped off by Firestone so badly that I wouldn't piss on their employees if they were on fire, so take that for what it is worth. The Dobbs in Maplewood, however, has been stellar. They have talked me out of thousands in unnecessary work. Great service, and they are stand up guys. If your parents are paying for the repairs, take it where they tell you to and good luck. If not, I hope you go to see them.

When I lived in South City, my wife and I always took my cars to Dave Sinclair Ford for servicing. The guys there are friendly and always did good work for us and really worked with us when needed. Actually, since moving to the burbs, I miss going there since now I go to Pundmann in St. Charles and the service is simply not as good, IMHO.

Try Dave Sinclair Lincoln (NOT Ford) on S Lindbergh. I've heard good things about their service department. http://davesinclairlincolnsouth.com/Service.aspx

Suntrup Ford in Kirkwood has been pretty reliable in my experience.

Dealers will usually give a bum deal compared to the private shops but if you are really wanting a dealer I highly recommend Sunset Ford... https://maps.google.com/maps?q=sunset+ford&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&sa=N&tab=wl

You could check out[ Repair Pal](http://repairpal.com/) and [Yelp](http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=ford+dealership&find_loc=st.+louis+mo&ns=1) for reviews and estimates as well.

Auto Plaza Ford in Desoto, MO, or Marshall Ford in O'Fallon, MO. I know people who work at both and they are both honest dealerships. From what I have seen from most other dealerships, not so much. I can make a recommendation of a lot of shops in or around South City if you can talk them into skipping the dealer. Will probably save a lot of money going that way. What is the problem you are having with your car to begin with?
ellasaurus_rex replied:
yes, here's my recommendation: don't go to a dealership. as a fellow 20-something woman, I HIGHLY recommend Lindbergh Tire and Auto by South County Mall. Dave is awesome and he won't rip you off, promise.

I work at a West County Dealership and we take all of our fords to Bo Beuckman Ford (http://www.gotobo.com/index.htm) They do reliable work for us. I think that the are by appointment only though, so you might want to call ahead. Also by chance, whats wrong with your car? Some problems are brand specific but it might just be something that you can take anywhere
Ok. Looking for an "honest" used car dealer that sells cars under $4K. Anyone know of someone (preferrably south) that you would trust if you were buying a car for...
