Depends on what kind of cuisine you're looking for. I'm not too familiar with Stafford, but here's the Chronicle's top 100 from 2015: http://www.houstonchronicle.com/entertainment/top-100-restaurants/

There's a few decent options at Sugar Land Town Square - Jupiter Pizza & Waffle Co is pretty popular - I like their pizzas better than their waffles. Fish City Grill has a tiny menu but their fried fish is good, you can tell it's fresh. There's also a Torchy's Tacos between Highway 6 and William's Trace, but I'm not the biggest fan of their food - I much prefer Brothers Taco House in Eado. As for chains... Blaze Pizza. I'm there at least once a week. Really nice chewy/crispy crust and none of that "we charge per topping" stuff. Flat rate for all toppings, as much as you want.

Tia Maria's on 290 at Mangum/Dacoma. Great food, great prices, and awesome margarita's. Moringside Thai on Kirby (just north of Main, and south of Braeswood). Great food, friendly folks. Dumpling King on Westheimer near Hillcroft/Voss. Awesome food for a great price. Bubba's Texas Burger Shack - some for the buffalo burgers. Stay for the buffalo burgers.
