A lot of people use Spay now for vaccines, but if you have a real problem or the pet is sick, you'll need a different vet, as Spay now does not cater to those needs. I live in Grasonville but travel to Centreville for Town and Country Animal Hospital. Dr. Rice is amazing. I would not take my dog anywhere else.
Marguerite B. replied:
Chesapeake vet, they are excellent, 5 or 6 vets there, open 5 1/2 days a week and a vet on call! They take excellent care of my 6,
Daryl S. replied:
I actually came on here searching for this today too- I went to Spay Now Animal Surgery Clinic in Grasonville today and they got both my pets in today, checked up and vaccinated reasonably.

Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital. The vets and staff there are wonderful!
Jeren C. replied:
I know it's a little farther out but we use Pet Health Clinic in Easton. Their prices are a fraction of what many of the vet around here charge just for you to walk through their door, the staff is absolutely wonderful (when I had to put my beautiful kitty down last year the tech sat with me the entire time and cried with me), the vets are very knowledgeable and compassionate, and I have never had any issue making an appointment they always get you in as soon as possible! Definitely worth the travel.
You guys were great with mosquito advice, so I am back for more recommendations! We are adopting a dog and looking for input on a good vet here on the Island (I thought...

I'm not a fan of Spay Now. I had a young kitten who was spayed there. Her sister did great but this kitten didn't react well with the anesthesia, they still sent her home and she ended up having seizures and barely survived. I was fortunate enough to have Chesapeake Veterinary Hospital to bring her to for the right care. I will never go back to Spay Now.

I cannot recommend Chesapeake Animal Hospital. Our great pyr left our family last year shortly after we moved here and they promised they would make a paw print for each of our children however when I called a few days later no one had any idea what I was talking about. They told me that they would research it and call me back, but never did. I called again and they apologized, but still couldn't offer any additional information. Had they just told me no, I could have done this myself, instead we're left with nothing.

If anyone wants to donate towards his vet bill send it to Mid Atlantic Cat Hospital. He will be going in the morning.
Inge P. replied:
He is going to MACH today, pretty sure he will have to stay for care. Please donate towards his bill to help out. Colleen McLaughlin Morehead was kind enough to take him in, get him fed and warm and is taking him to Dr R. Please help pay for his vet care. It may get expensive, especially since we do not know everything that could be wrong. He is very dehydrated, malnourished and could possibly have organ damage. Please share.

Friend of ours dog, appears to have an eye infection or something going on. Can anyone on here that has pets or works with them suggest a way to clean it or what can do...
Debbie M. replied:
My Bichon did something to her eye. Vet said could be she scratched it or something like a bush. It developed into an ulcer on her eye. She's on antibiotics and wearing a collar until she goes back to the vet. Try a collar so the dog won't rub his face along the ground, carpet or with his paw. Clean with warm water. It is safe to use Gentile Eye Drops.
