Hal's Farmhouse was known for its Chicken in the Basket. My family used to go there when I was a kid and it could have been the 40's or 50's, later it became the Branding Iron. It was owned by the Hal Smith who lived next door . Mary Havens was good friends with the Smiths for she lived next door. I know the children were Charlotte, Jo Ann, Mary Jane and charles.

GREAT PHOTO, Sandor, but, the BAR they are discussing is a MUCH later building ! It wasn't on the property too many years because of it being RIGHT ON ROUTE 23 !! It was torn down before, or when, the Car Dealership took roots. My niece was killed during 1962 era, because one of the customers leaving the premises, was very DRUNK, and ran into her and her hubby, walking off the side of the road, with their motorcycle. One of my sister -in - laws worked there--back in the early 1960's !! Soooo, even though your photo is a much earlier view of the area --- the BAR was on the far left side of route 23 southeast of Stratford Rd. You have the right location --just wrong era !! LOVE YOU, anyway, Sandor !!! xoxooxoxx

Mike Elgee...nah never heard of the guy.....LMAO.....Yeah Michael is my father. If you know my dad, you probably know my uncle John who was 2 years behind him and maybe my other uncle Harold who was 2 years behind John. So dad was class of 64, John class of 66, and Harold class of 68? I think.

Sorry LaCucina Bivona is closed next weekend but the food at Reggianos is almost comparable. Not sure if the place is fun for swinging college gals I will ask around!
