There's also vets now in glasgow, at Charing Cross.

I have always used Clyde Vets. They have an out of hours service at the main branch in Lanark. I needed to use them last Sunday. Yes it's more expensive but if your pet needs to see the vet it's well worth it, for your pets health and your own peace of mind.

Stephen Pritchard Darvel, are fabulous and. Do their own on call emergency number 01560 320914 and they won't cost as much as many others

Strathaven vets are very good (I take both my dog and rabbit there), and apparently have a very good reputation with vets all over the UK. They are quite expensive though. The vets on Low Waters Road in Hamilton are good too (I used to take my rabbit), and cheaper than Strathaven.

Clyde Valley in Auchinheath are the best there is ....Miriam has been looking after my dogs for 12 years now and my wee sister moved to Miriam too from Strathaven as they were overcharging ..... but as Rachel said above its worth shopping around. When we were at the farm we used Taylors at Cathkin...... but I would hight recomment Miriam at Clyde Valley in Auchinheath and when the time comes to PTS one of your pets she is excellent at this service.....
Anyone who is vet on this page can get advice just now regarding my Cat.

I phone the emergency vets. Going to keep an eye on him. Thanks all especially Mark Holmes.
Mark H. replied:
Yes, the Emergency Vets are very good and you can be sure to be seeing somebody who is awake and fresh instead if a Vet who may well have been awake for 48 hours. You can also be certain that somebody will be with your pet instead of it being left on its own. The Glasgow University Emergency Service gives us the confidence that Emergencies will be getting a standard of care which isn't compromised by Vets who have been in duty for a number of days. It also means that the Vets you see in the day have not been up all night as well.
