Looking for your thoughts. My daughter took her mare XC schooling where she lost her left front shoe (with wedge pad). Rode her for a bit after she threw it, took her...
Liz Y. replied:
What do you do when the foot in question has a shoe and rubber pad too. In addition, she also had equipak injected in the space between her sole and the pad. www.vettec.com/equi-pak-180 cc
Desirea H. replied:
1. Try Jim Ricken's hoof ointment for bruises & soft feet. Made the mistake of participating in a jump clinic with my mare barefoot. She bruised and the farrier recommended this stuff. (Still use it for everything on their foot soles.)http://www.bigdweb.com/Jim-Rickens-Hoof-Care/productinfo/1148/ 2. Chiropractor can work miracles for them. Try it on your mare, she may just be out. Being shoeless on one foot can be like walking with a barefoot and a high heel.. you'll get sore and out of whack.

We did lots of research before we moved here last year and picked out a vet that looked excellent on paper, but we went in twice before our dog needed knee surgery and they dropped the ball several times. We looked around at quite a few more vets before we settled on the Animal Medical Center of Streetsboro to do his surgery. Dr. Leffler and his staff have been great with us and our dog.
Lance C. replied:

What are some inexpensive vet options in the area?
Kaity K. replied:
I used to take my dog to tri county vet in Orwell. They are inexpensive and everyone's really good there. I take her to south Russell vet who also is really good. Not sure what's closer to you.
Angie M. replied:
Primary Pet Care is where we go for our dog. I dont know about dogs but they just had a clinic at the apl for cats and my cat was only $40 to fix. I had to call and make appt and wait til clinic came back like a month but worth it. Maybe try apl. like I said that might just be for cats. not sure.

Dr Leffler in Streetsboro! He's amazing. I have a 16 year old large breed dog he's taken care of her and my cats forever. Animal medical center of Streetsboro. It's next to midas. U won't find a more caring veterinarian
Montana C. replied:
Animal Medical Center of Streetsboro. We moved from Wisconsin over the summer and left behind an amazing vet so we had very high standards for our vet here. Shortly after we moved, our Pomeranian mix (with anxiety/aggression issues) needed knee surgery. We did a ton of research and visited two other highly reviewed vets before deciding on Dr. Leffler's practice. Our dog had a very successful surgery (it was his second knee surgery and his recovery went even better than the one we had back at our favorite vet in WI). We are very pleased with Dr. Leffler and his staff -- especially Marie for handling our dog appropriately despite his not-so-friendly behavior.

Lucy is 14 years old today. I know every day with her is a gift. I was not expecting her to still be around in 2014 since the average lifespan of a lab is 12-13 years....
Jim J. replied:
Happy Birthday Lucy. To bad you are not here for our walk.
