We use Banfield too but the one at the Petsmart in Campbell. Dr. Rosen has been there since we started using them in 2001. For training I highly recommend you read Cesar Milan's book for training yourself first. He also has a show called the Dog Whisperer. I think it's awesome that you are asking these questions in advance of getting a dog.
I'm looking for an excellent veterinarian in the Sunnyvale area? Any recommendations?
Eurell R. replied:
We have gone to Arroyo Animal Clinic for six years. We usually see Dr. Megan or Dr. Paul but Dr. Elizabeth is good too. The rest of the staff is helpful and caring as well. Our two Cornerstone girls (Chloe, 13 yrs old) and (Sophie, 4 yrs old) are always well taken care of. They do not push unnecessary expensive procedures. smile emoticon http://www.yelp.com/biz/arroyo-animal-clinic-sunnyvale
Eurell R. replied:
If you're also looking for a good groomer, we highly recommend Critter Clipper in Mountain View (about 10 minutes from Sunnyvale). Linda and Danny are excellent and so caring. Our girls always look beautiful and adorable thanks to them! smile emoticon http://www.yelp.com/biz/critter-clipper-mountain-view

We also go to Arroyo Animal Clinic and would highly recommend Dr. Paul and his staff!
Hello, I just found out that my vet is retiring. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
Joanna H. replied:
Burbank Pet Hospital on San Carlos. Dr. Kumar is our vet.
Dylan W. replied:
Agree with Rob Vadnais. Willow Glen Pet Hospital on Willow. They have been amazing with my 6 month old Frenchie! Not to mention their prices are lower from a lot of the other WG vets. The staff and Dr. Gillion are super sweet, and listen to you as a pet owner!
Rozanne S. replied:

Adobe Animal Hospital. Facilities in Los Gatos (Blossom Hill and LG Blvd) and Los Altos.
Rachel G. replied:
Pinnacle Animal Hospital is amazing. I have been to a lot of vets in the area and they are very unique. Visit their Facebook page and check out their Yelp reviews.
Elisa L. replied:
Adobe Animal Hospital. Dr. Cristi Blackwolf in Los Gatos and Drs Denise Johnsen and Rachel Boltz in Los Altos. Adobe is the Mayo Clinic of animal medicine. Open practice- you are there with your baby for everything. Would not trust a practice that did animal care any other way.
Alayna C. replied:
Dr Forgy, or Dr. Moore at Pinnacle Animal hospital.

Dr Nagle at Lincoln Ave Vet Clinic has been fantastic. Even helped us with the difficult decision of putting our geriatric dogs down, talking us through each step, at length.

New arrival is looking for a veterinarian for an angry, angry cat. Suggestions?
Len S. replied:
We swear by Arguello pet hospital on Arguello and Geary in San Francisco. Dr. Jamie Ina is pretty awesome.
Hope F. replied:
We took Bacon to Adobe Animal Hospital. He's not really an angry, angry cat. But he is a grumpy old man cat. They were good to him. A friend works there. https://www.adobe-animal.com/
