I am in need of a cat. If anyone has info on an animal shelter where I can obtain one, I'd be much obliged.

This video has nothing to do with your search for a cat, but I thought it was funny and therefore worth sharing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=558 fJFk1BL8

People's park by hotel one is excellent for adopting puppies. My friend Eve goes every week, and she has many! it usually runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. https://m.facebook.com/dogsadoption

The Sanctuary is also a very worthy cause worth supporting and adopting from! https://m.facebook.com/TheSanctuaryinTaiwan Also the Tuapa shelter is amazing! Josie, Rachel Byron, my sister and many other lovely people go every week. There are many places that are making a difference. Taichung Paws does great work, too. Contrary to what some may think, they don't actually have a shelter nor do they house animals on a regular basis. I think they are wonderful for sharing information about adoptable pets and dealing with abuse cases. They have a network of great people helping out. Good luck with your search and let me know if you need any help!:) P.S: vet care is very cheap here! Also relatively easy to bring your pet back to your country after Taiwan.

There is a government shelter in the mountains, but I remember it is quite far away. Here's the website: http://www.animal.taichung.gov.tw/lp.asp?CtNode=7813&CtUnit=1687&BaseDSD=57&mp=119020

Taichung paws, The Sanctuary or Animals Taiwan are also excellent organizations you can have a look at!

Absolutely! Taichung Paws or the government shelter that Bianca mentioned! Way to be for adopting by the way!
