Jules, I hate to say it, but that line work is blown out. Can you see the way the ink goes beyond the line itself? Those are called blow outs. It means that the artist took too long going over that spot and ink has bled into the surrounding skin. If it helps anybody, I have been going to my artist for 12 years. I would have to say Night Action Tattoo on Daya and Zhongming is the best quality. Sharon, at the front desk is wonderful and speaks English. I've gone there and 4 of my friends have also been tatted there. Very high quality!

Both sleeves (mostly) at Night Action. Wu is the lao ban and the top guy, in my opinion. You'll find him by following the red bin liang barf from the road. Hah. Oh, he also has a bright pink mohawk. I guess that would have been the better description. Hah.

Hunter, I have my own little shop upstairs from Lei Gallery (near Sogo). I have my own style of tattoos, and if it's not something you're into I can also hook you up with the guy I apprenticed under, his shop is on Zhong Mei Street (also near Sogo). His specialty is traditional Japanese, but can do any style. He doesn't speak English, but I can go in and help you translate.

I've had work done by both Jon Renzella and Night Action Tattoo . Night Action is really good with color tattoos and watercolor and traditional styles. Jon has his own unique style and designed my tattoo himself. Depends on what you want, but check them out! No reason to go to Taipei.

I've been going to Ah-chi for 14 years. He has done my whole upper body and he is not as expensive or arrogant as Night Action (no offence, but I cannot stand that guy).
