For cardiology, Bakersfield is the place to go! We had a crash course in cardiology when my daughter I went emergent open heart surgery at 12 days for a CHD. Heart hospital has some fantastic doctors. My daughters pediatric cardiologist (Aaron Banks) has recommended Dr Kumar for adult cardiology.
Kristina S. replied:
Dr Kumar saved my life along with dr khan... agree with Laura Diamond..
Patricia M. replied:
Karen Drum-Sousa, 'Old Towne' is the area roughly between Woodford Tehachapi Rd & Golden Hills BLVD off of highway 202. Usually referring to the shopping area/business's in that general area
Tracee W. replied:
I saw Dr. Tommy Lee (Cardiologist) in Bakersfield in October and he was very good. Very friendly and personable.
Tracee W. replied:
Also, I know Dr Warsaw in town is good for a GP. I haven't seen him but my mother in law has.
I'm needing recommendations for an optometrist for my very active 6 year old son. I'll travel to BK but I'd much rather stay local. TIA.

Anybody have any opinions on these optometrists? Dagenham & Tehachapi Optometric
Lisa B. replied:
I've been going to Tehachapi Optometric for years. Dr. Young is great. They are very efficient and I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes.
Jennifer S. replied:
Stupid auto correct! I meant to say Fagen not Dagenham
Pam B. replied:
Dr Young at Tehachapi Optometric is good
Kristie C. replied:
Dr. Young at Tehachapi Optometric Center. By far.
Lisa B. replied:
Dr. Fagen once wrote an incorrect prescription for my son. His eyes were bothering him more, so I took him to a pediatric opthamologist who was shocked at the prescription he wrote. This was about 12 years ago. We switched to Dr. Young and we haven't had a problem since.
Christine D. replied:
Dr. Young is wonderful. I've seen him my entire life, with the exception of one year. His staff is always pleasant and helpful too. I saw Dr. Fagan this year because of insurance reasons and his care was perfunctory. He has a technological edge but not as warm.
Christine D. replied:
Dr. Young is very kid friendly. If your VSP is through private insurance(not Medi-Cal) I believe Dr. Young will still accept. If it's via Medi-Cal you will have to go to Dr. Fagan.
Brandy G. replied:
I really like Dr Young at Tehachapi optometric. I've been going for years. I take both of my kids there too
Anyone know of an optometrist, up here, that would adjust glasses, even if you didn't buy them from them? Someone sat on my glasses and they need to be tweaked back.
