Dr Greg Stanley at Cascade Orthopedics is the BEST around! 541-296-2294. A great general practitioner is PA David McNally at Columbia Hills 541-296-9151! I have severe arthritis in my L4-L5 so I understand the need for good care!

Athena M. replied:
I went to Dr. Cullin at MCMC Orthopedics for severe back pain that was keeping me from doing anything strenuous. He's great and so is the other orthopedist, Dr. Schwartz! I might be a little biased since I work at the hospital but their treatment plan really helped. I ended getting referred to a physical therapist at Water's Edge who taught me some simple exercises to strengthen my back. Now whenever my back bothers me I know what to do. Not sure what your situation is but if you call MCMC Ortho they may be able to help: 541.506.6500.
Athena M. replied:
Also, I highly recommend attending the free pain management classes at Water's Edge. They have helped a lot of people understand how to self manage their pain and understand their medications and treatment options. It's put together by a group of really passionate people who range from physical therapists to sleep doctors to dietitians to meditation experts. Here's a link to the program page: http://info.mcmc.net/persistent-pain-education-program --- I hope this helps!
Kevin W. replied:
I have the worst back on the planet and after seeing oodles of drs, chiros etc Matt Garrean at Rebecca Street physical therapy on 4 th street is the best.
EMERGENCY HELP NEEDED!!!
Adam Assenberg needs our help. His doctor cut him off because of cannabis use. He will run out of his blood pressure & blood clotting medication...
Annie P. replied:
I HAVE 3 REFERENCES! Columbia Hill Family Med. at 541-296-9151, River view internal medicine: 541-506-6940 & Anti coagulation clinic: 541-506-6430. All in The Dalles, Or. All given to me by Mid Columbia Med-center 541-296-1111
Debbie F. replied:
I go to a pain management doctor that may know of one. They support cannabis use. 425-805-8885 Cant hurt for him to call and ask them. (Renton)
Sue T. replied:
Dr. Antia, he's my gp and mj friendly, but he's in Auburn WA.
Melissa C. replied:
The Hemp and Cannabis Foundation has done some good work. Many doctors who don't prescribe because of possible legal ramifications (their license is issued by fed govt and cannabis is still illegal under federal law) will suggest and send their patients there. I have seen doctors write to them specifically so that the process is easier. I don't know specifics of his personal case but I find that they are incredibly helpful and fair but also responsible.
Carla A. replied:
He can't find another Personal Care Provider that will take him on because of the pain meds and locally, that Susie was his Dr. They won't take ANY of her patients, so Adam is screwed. Thank you very much for putting out the emergency call. Help is desperately needed and yes, he needs the blood clotting meds, which he can get at the ER if absolutely necessary. The problem is, he still needs the pain meds so he needs a doctor that will prescribe both. This is still an Emergency as the Doctor in Issaquah won't take him on because he lives more than 5 counties away. If you know of ANYONE that might take him on as a patient, please let us know. Thank you.
Carla A. replied:
Sue, I will make sure he knows about Dr. Anita. Thank you. Even Auburn will do if Dr. Anita will take him on.
Sue T. replied:
Idk if he will do pain meds tho. But my mil Dr. Is Dr. Mark Murphy he's a gp and is in Tacoma and she gets percs from him as well as all her many other meds. Good luck. I know how hard it is to find a good Dr.
Annie P. replied:
Adam! I have driven 2 clients (I'm a volunteer driver) to Columbia Medical Ctr., 551 Lone Pine Blvd., #305, The Dalles, Or. 541-296-7202. This is a FREE clinic! We came all the way from Clark County, WA.! because this was the only one that offered care for the folks I drove. I"m not sure how they qualified, but it worked for them.

Does anyone know doctors in town who prescribe medical marijuana? Im hoping I dont have to find a doctor in Portland. No nasty comments. If you have nothing nice to say...
Amy E. replied:
You can't just go to a doctor anymore to get a card. You have to go through either the MAMA Clinic here.....or go to Portland to one of their clinics.
Ken R. replied:
I am a cannabis patient. My provider at MCMC The Dalles recommended I see a doctors at MAMA Clinic The Dalles. I have been told the reason why MCMC doctors/providers can not provide prescription is because of Federal funding issues. It is my experience if you have chronic pain issues, MCMC providers will do their part and facilitate medical records transfers to MAMA providers for treatment. I suffer from chronic pain as a result of 18 surgeries, military service connected. MAMA'S will cost you first time about $200,00.
Sumer B. replied:
You have to go to the Mamas clinic in The Dalles. All the doctors are associated with MCMC here and can't prescribe it anymore.
Dianne E. replied:
Check with MAMA (Mothers Against Misuse and Abuse) down near the Courthouse. http://www.mamas.org/

Laura B. replied:
I see Lisa Grant, Columbia Gorge Neuroligists Service for my MS! You don't have a huge selection of neuros here in The Dalles or Hood River. But I like Lisa. Shes friendly and knowledgeable!

I would suggest driving to Portland if you want a great neurologist. Dr. Steven Day is great. Also, a great internal medicine Dr. is Dr. Kukier in Hood River.
Sarah G. replied:
Dr. Brittany Fallon is literally life changing. In less than 6 months of her being my PCP, she has tackled years of what was nothing but dead ends for other doctors. She's kind and has fantastic bedside manner but puts the truth right out there so you know how to do your part of being the healthiest "you" that you can be!:-)
Angela M. replied:
Laura Flath at waters edge is great for internal medicine/primary care
Sherri G. replied:
I also saw dr grant for years. Didn't care for her much felt like she didn't listen. Which led me to see neurosurgeon dr Mark Belza out of st Charles medical center in bend (he's fantastic) and haven't had to see Grant in years.

Dr. Buser in Hood River is also great. I would highly recommend him. We belong to Columbia Gorge family Medicine and are very happy there. If we can't get in with our primary, they always get us in with another provider. They also have urgent care after hours and on Saturdays.
