Do you ski? It looks like they may get some snow during the week. There's a ski area right at the resort. There are some indoor water parks if you like those. If you are OK with a bit of a drive, The House on the Rock is neat and you could do Cave of the Mounds in that same trip.

Don't know about maid service - usually we are there for a couple nights. Many restaurants within walking distance - otherwise a $5 Uber ride. Buddy Guys great blues club only a few blocks away. Eleventh City Diner close by - Russian Tea Room is also good. Too many others to mention.

I live in the area: Meli cafe, cafecito (Cuban), Chicago curry house (Indian), edwardo's (deep dish pizza) - though I'm a giordanos fan this is right across the street, Amarit (Thai), SRO (burgers)...these are all within 5 minute walk from the Blake.

Fountains, but if you stay at Orlando Sunshine Resort there is a park right beside it where you can race go carts, etc. But I liked the Fountains best, better location than Sunshine.

Doubletree and Hampton are within walking distance of campus and shops and restaurants and bars. The Hampton Inn is a modern property with a restaurant and bar in it. Book on the Hilton web site.

We bid on our room on Priceline and got it for about $150 a night. We ended up at Holiday Inn. It was nice enough. We did have a view of Alcatraz which was amazing. I know it's touristy, but we enjoy staying at the wharf. We walk everywhere and rent a car for a day or two to see some things further away.

Just there this weekend! If you like tapas or Spanish food try Emillio's on Ohio. It's amazing! The breakfast at Melia's is good and a lot of food for the money. Also on the weekend Sweetwater Tavern has a good brunch and was empty compared to any other place we found!

Cathy Hansen, there are also bikes all over town that you can rent and return at other rental stations. Really cool way to get around quicker and keep moving, especially down by North Lake Shore, Navy Pier, and Museum Campus!!
