Hey! So I am coordinating the West Linn HS class of 2002's reunion this summer and they would like it to cost $25/person or less (which would include gratuity); we are...

This is a really tight budget, Kristen. Rule of thumb is to budget 20% gratuity for groups, which leaves you with $20 per person. I think you need to go outside the box and reserve a spot at a city park or Picnic area at Oaks Park where you are able to bring in your own catering at the price you need. There are options of wharehouse spaces, but if you aren't guaranteeing catering for a venue than you have to pay a space rental fee for places like that. $35 for a high school reunion is a very good bargain. Is that what you will be charging them? Does that mean you have budget for other items? Good luck! For other venue options, please feel free to visit www.bravoevent.com.

Contact Holiday Inn at Wilsonville. Tell them your budget and see what they can do. They may be able to work it. My husband works there so tell them Joe the lead line cook sent you.

Does anyone know of free meeting places in the Portland, Vancouver, Lake Oswego area? This would be for a committee of about 10 people or so. You can get only so much...

Yes -- there is a free meeting room in the Cedar Hills Plaza office building off of Cedar Hills Blvd next to the Goodwill. I've used it for the Daylighters Retreat and a Division council meeting. There is a large conference table and room for twenty people. It has a white board, and a small kitchen area. I became aware of it through the NW Women's Biz Linked In group of which I'm a member. I've found it available on the weekends. I've never tried to book it during the week. If you are interested, please let me know. The more lead time you can give me to book it for you, the better. -- Phyllis
