I really like Grant Skalnik. He has been my dentist for about 11 years. Super kind and he has little kids of his own. He is off Hwy 359 towards Shelton State but not that far past Skyland.
Laura S. replied:
Dr Scott on 69S is great!!
Michelle C. replied:
David Scott is awesome with kids!!! His staff is also great. Example. We were at Webbs football game and Dr Scott came over to our side and walked up to speak. He said that he had been watching #12 and wanted us to tell him good game from Dr Scott. He is so personable and available for emergencies on the weekend. With 3 boys we have had a few teeth emergencies!!! Lol
Peggy C. replied:
Dr. Paul Diaz. Very patient, very conservative about recommending procedures or treatment.
Lauren L. replied:
I love Dr. Jamie Johnson. Great staff and comfortable atmosphere. My kids go to Tuscaloosa Pediatric Dentistry but Dr. Johnson has seen Josephine before and she had a good experience.
Lori M. replied:
Dental works across for the mall. We are close friends with both of the dentists. Dr. Meredith McCracken would be great for Milo. She is gentle and has two sets of twins under the age of 6. She has patience!

Best dentist in T-Town? I moved here in August and am looking for a new dentist. I’ve had issues with bad dentists in the past so it’s made me really skeptical to...
onkenstein replied:
Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry in Northport has been pretty good for us. I usually see Dr. Marshall, but the other dentists have been fine the few times I've seen them.
chief_tuskaloosa replied:
I use Rhodes & Rhodes. Never had an issue with them. I've heard real good things about Dr. Scalnik at Dental South but they don't take my insurance so I chose Rhodes & Rhodes.
stealthone1 replied:
I used to go to [Riverview Dental](https://www.tuscaloosadentist.com/) over across the river (pretty close to Cypress Inn) and they were excellent. They aren't the cheapest dentist in town by any means, but the quality they do is top notch. They also include nitros for free even in cleanings if you want it. The way they bill is you pay in full up front and then insurance will reimburse afterwards, which can get expensive to handle that first cost. But they are great quality there and will take good care of you.
mptyson replied:
Roe and Turnipseed. University General Dentistry. Not even close.
4cedCompliance replied:
Dr. Lamoureux near the intersection of Hargrove & McFarland — doesn’t “look” for stuff to fix (and charge for) he just deals with whatever you’ve got. The service he & his technicians provide is top notch.

Davis dental is amazing.
tuscaloosabum replied:
I like Dr. Carlson Jr. In and out quick. Text message reminders. Nice staff. I have some jacked up teeth and they never make me feel embarrassed about it.
CapnNoodle replied:
Johnson & Marshall on Hargrove. The only dentist I've ever been to more than once.
THUMBxxNINJA replied:
Will Wagner. The girls there don’t make your gums bleed after cleaning.
JESBUSCHRIST replied:
I go to Goggans Bennie J Dr Dentist. Staff are really nice, he is a tall genital giant.

Eddie, hardly any of them work on Friday. Jonathan had an emergency on a Friday and no one would even work him in. Dr. Diaz on Rice Mine was going to, but Jonathan couldn't make it before they closed at lunch.

Rita S. replied:
May soundlike a bad idea at first...but Maude Whatley Dental Clinic is so clean and have great dentists. An emergency visit is $50. You have to be one of the first 5 or six and be there early...like before 6:30 to be seen at 8. But it'd worth the wait.
Stacy T. replied:
Call Rhodes and Rhodes in Taylorville . Two sister's new dentistry. If the other does not work for you.
Laura F. replied:
yeah i have heard good things about UAB if Maude Whaely doesn't work out. I would also call and talk to the social worker at Capstone Medical Center. She could point you in other directions if none of those are gonna work
Rita S. replied:
I managed a local dental lab 10 years ago that specialized in crowns, bridges and dental implants. We made all the dental prosthesis for UAB School of Dentistry. Also, made them for the biggest majority of dentists in Tuscaloosa esp. Believe me...Maude Whatley Dental Clinic is at the top of the list in cleanliness, affordability, and professionalism. It's just a drag to have to be there so early.
