I’d suggest checking out mid town PHX on Yelp. We have a ton of mom and pop spots down here. Pre Covid, a fairly good KBBQ spot opened for all you can eat make your own. You’ll find quite a few treasures, food wise, near 85012 and 85014.

Foodie here too and I love Asian cuisine! Not a huge fan of spicy as well but will try things once. I live in the east valley, so we could look for spots in between. I have a few favorites if you're interested!

Love asian cusisine as well!! But I mainly know east side places - Manna BBQ for KBBQ, nishkawa and tampopo for ramen (if you could marry the two you would have a perfect bowl of ramen imo), Fusion Tea Lounge has some good asian fusion esque food if you're into that, Deez buns - just try it you wont be disappointed. In Mesa, the Mekong shopping areas have "cafeterias" which a bunch of good asian food too!!

I thought I would add a few more suggestions, with many in the West Valley.
We love Pho 43 and Song Lynn for Vietnamese food in the West Valley. My favorite sushi spot is Harumi Sushi downtown, hands down. For Chinese, we love China Chili and Blossom Asian Cuisine. Halo Halo Kitchen has the best Filipino food in the West Valley. In terms of drinks, I love Aloha Tea and Coffee in Glendale for good teas and smoothies, as well as Milk Run. If you're looking for ramen, we love Origami Sushi Bar in Ahwatukee. They also have good hand rolls and karaage. The best Shabu Shabu we've had is from Shabu Fondue. We love Korean porridge from Po Chicken (awesome wings, too!) and Seoul Market has great gimbap and groceries. I would also add Scooptacular, Scooptopia, and Tea Snow to the list as a few fave dessert places.
Hope these suggestions are helpful and would love to be a foodie buddy!

I am very careful about Yelp. I have a good friend who has her own small business and she found out one of her competitors was slamming her on Yelp by using different names! I don't trust Yelp too much. My daughter is a server at The Blind Pig, and it is doing REALLY well and unfortunately taking business away from other local restaurants. If you go on Yelp, some people said that the service was slow, etc. Every time I have eaten there, I have never had a problem with the amount of time it takes me to get my food. Maybe the drinks are a little slow because there is one bartender and he makes creations, not drinks! The most amazing unique drinks around and it's well worth the wait. If you ever go there ask to have Candice as your waitress. She will take excellent care of you!
