can anyone recommend a decent, english speaking hair salon in mugeo dong or ok dong for a quick trim? thanks!
Deirdre M. replied:
In Mugeo, New York hair salon is good.
Hannah R. replied:
I recommend Vidal Sassoon also. Really reasonably priced and the service and english were both amazing and my hair looks good. I'm happy, anyway smile emoticon
Martin R. replied:
my wife's hairshop is across from Lotte Mart in DalDong. She does a great job for cheap. her ad in on the front page of ulsanonline.com below Toni&Guy
Stacey F. replied:
Vidal Sasson in Okdong is excellent... the owners trained in the states and soeak perfect English...Cindy- 052-258-4950
Elizabeth O. replied:
I've been to Toni and Guy a lot and I really like it- I've gone super-light and super dark both there and both times it ended up quite well. It is a bit expensive, but like Lorna said, I had 2 people working on me at once. I've also heard good things about Vidal Sasson. I loved New York Hair but I'm pretty sure it's gone- the building at least is demolished.
Has anyone tried out the new Vidal Sasson hair salon on the main drag in Ok-dong? It just opened a few months ago, near Coffee Coffea and Reason Cafe. I'd love to get...
Hannah R. replied:
I have the business card here! Her mobile is 010-3728-4950 :)
Emily S. replied:
If you need highlights, its worth a trip to Busan to Soo Casa hair. She really knows what she is doing and is a hairdresser that can be compleatly trusted!
Emily S. replied:
Yes, I got a full head of very blonde highlights. She had to do her best to fix a blonde highlight disaster I got here in Ulsan and she really knew what she was doing. She's at Jangsan Station, out exit #1, on the first floor (#122, 1F Samjeong Core) of the building that the Coffee Bean is in. However she is very popular, especially with the foreigners. Word of her expertise is spreading so it's best to book. The number is 051 703 8555. It's expensive ($170 -ish) but I think when you're messing with blonde dye here in Korea it is well worth the expense!!!!
Does anyone here know of a waxing place in Ulsan?? Ive checked a couple of hair salons here but they dont seem to do waxing at thise here! Thanks!
Enda O. replied:
Try a skin clinic like Dew Clinic in Samsandong — not sure
Veena S. replied:
Esther , http://www.labeautekorea.com/ There is a phone number on the site.
Melanie H. replied:
Hey! I go to a waxing place in the exordium buildings diagonally across from lotte department store. It's in the same building as demaris. Elaine Pinacate has the details as she normally books my appointments. smile emoticon they do everything from eyebrows to brazilian wax! It's pretty expensive though.
Cecilia O. replied:
Hey there Sarah! There's a place called Face Line right in front of Lotte Department Store in Samsandong. It is right above the KEB on the same floor as Tony and Tony Hair. I get my eyebrows waxed there, pretty cool place and the lady speaks fairly good English smile emoticon
Hello all! Can anyone recommend a good hair salon? I just need a trim! Preferably in Namgu area. Or does anyone feel they themself have the skill to give someone a trim....
Ashley P. replied:
Ardis, I'm not exactly sure. maybe open until 8 or so? their number is 052-258-4950.
Margreet P. replied:
You can try Juno Hair in Samsan. Ask for Ban Seok - she usually tends to the foreigners since she speaks good English. She works Monday to Saturday. A trim is normally between 25,000 won and 35,000 won.
Angharad O. replied:
Best haircut I've had here is at Toni & Guy opposite Lotte, hairdresser who speaks English and has worked in Australia called Crystal. It was 50,000 I think, for wetcut, blowdry and style:-)
Ashley P. replied:
I had a nice experience at VS Salon. I got my bangs trimmed and a very thorough, relaxing manicure for around 15 k.
Hey! This question is mainly directed at the ladies - any recommendations for English speaking hair stylists? I'm thinking that I will need a trim soon and I'm also...
Nicole S. replied:
Juno and Toni and guy are the big ones!
Jackie B. replied:
My Juno haircut was probably my worst in a long time, but the stylist's English wasn't great. I usually see Melissa at Toni & Guy.
Lobke M. replied:
Toni&Guy - Samsan Tower 1 st floor, across the street from Lotte Dept store and 50 m upwards to Hyundai Dept store. 052-272-0934
Hi ! Does anyone know where i can find a good hairdresser in ulsan? Thx
Nadina V. replied:
I don't like Toni and Guy for female haircuts, but I hear they're good for male haircuts. They're in Samsondong, across from Lotte Hotel. I believe the exact address/coordinates are on the ulsanonline.com website
Hey all, I'm on a mobile device and can't use the search function, does anyone know the phone number or better yet an email address for the Tony & guy hair salon...
So I've had a bit of a hair disaster. Blonde stripes and a big blond blob on the side of my head is the new look. I paid a lot thinking that it would mean the...
Deirdre M. replied:
I would suggest heading to Tony and Guy in Samsan - the stylists there trained in England, and are familiar with how to handle "waygook hair". I've also heard positive things about the new Vidal Sassoon in Okdong. (And I know your pain. I've had white stripes, and middle school bangs in separate hair disasters here before. I only go to Tony and Guy now...)
Renee D. replied:
That must be a new one...I didn't know we had a Juno Hair in Ulsan
Veena S. replied:
There's a Juno Hair salon in Nam-gu where I go. They do a very good job cutting hair. I don't know about coloring. Make sure you take your smart phone or iPad so you can use google translate! smile emoticon Or take a Korean friend with you. Ask for Na On. She is the head stylist.
Deirdre M. replied:
Yikes! Did they not offer to fix the problem free of charge? For their prices, you'd think they would. Maybe the Vidal Sassoon salon can help if T&G can't.
Renee D. replied:
If you're willing to spend the money, you can always come up to Seoul. Juno Hair in the COEX is really good with dying people's hair blonde....even if that is not what you asked for.
Hello, I would like to have a permanent, does anyone know some nice hair salons? Thank you!
Deirdre M. replied:
I've not had a perm, but I've had good haircuts at Tony and Guy. I've also heard positive things about Juno Hair in Samsandong, and Vidal Sassoon in Okdong. There's a VS in Mugeo, too, but I haven't heard anything about them.
Deirdre M. replied:
Definitely at Toni and Guy. I believe so at the others, but don't know for sure.
Jessie F. replied:
Toni and Guy was great. I was just there recently for a haircut. Great English and they even give you a complimentary drink.
Does anybody know of a good hairdresser in Samsan-dong?
Deirdre M. replied:
There is a Tony and Guy salon on the Main Street right across from Lotte Hotel, or Juno Hair, on the side street that runs beside the Paris Croissant. Both of these shops have been highly reviewed by various members of this group. Tony and Guy is a little more expensive, but they speak English well, whereas English is limited at Juno.
Ok I'm looking for a hairdresser that speaks English and knows how to work with curly hair. Does this actually exist in Ulsan?
(I'm sick of my students asking if I got...
Margreet P. replied:
My boyfriend swore by Ban-seok at Juno Hair in Samsan and refused to go anywhere else - he has super curly hair as soon as it reaches a certain point. Unfortunately for us (good for her!), Ban-seok got married a few months ago and is no longer working at Juno as she's pregnant. I had a haircut at Juno since then and a really nice lady with quite good English cut my hair - Ye Dam. From what I understand from the business card, she has Tuesdays off. I'm quite satisfied with what she did as may hair's quite unmanageable during summer humidity as well.
I have already perused the website and this page and was unable to find what I was looking for so I will ask here. ^^
