Metroflex, crunch fitness or golds gym. Crunch fitness is the best deal tho. Metroflex is more hardcore but welcoming at the same time. Golds gym is meh but much better than LA shittness

Hangar 18 climbing gyms are about [$46 a month](http://www.climbhangar18.com/pricing.php) or [$53 for two months](https://www.groupon.com/deals/hangar-18-indoor-climbing-gyms-6) if you use a groupon. Even if rock climbing isn't your thing, most of the locations, including the Long Beach one, have an area for weight lifting and stuff.

If you have Blue Cross Blue Shield (or a derivative of them) as your insurance, you can get a membership to over 9000 gyms, including LA Fitness and Gold's Gym, for $25 a month, and they waive the initiation fee too. That's what I'm using right now.

I think I'm leaning towards 24 hour fitness simply due to my work schedule. Would love to work out in the morning and be at work by 6:15 am. I have time in the evening but don't really want to be there when it is crowded. Anyone have experience at this gym?
