My son aged 6 walks on his toes (pretty much all the time). We have done serial castings...

My son is 10 and is a toe walker. I was referred by my doctor to a leg specialist at the Gold Coast Hospital. They have given him exercises to do daily. They say he has grown so fast that his leg muscles can't keep up with the rapid growth. They don't want to operate. They also recommend that he rides a push bike regularly to stretch his muscles. We remind him constantly to go on flat feet but he unconsciously still goes on his toes. I've given up hoping he will grow out if it.. If there is still no improvement by the time he sees the specialist again in January then maybe I might try the Doctor that was suggested above. Good luck to you and your son

My daughter was a severe toe walker. We were told that she would grow out of it for 6-7 years but she never did.I would recommend getting a referral to see Dr John Walsh. He is amazing. He ended up operating on my daughter 6 years ago & her transformation is amazing. He went through all the different options b4 she had surgery like serial casting, orthotics & Physio. Her visits to him were at the mater then Lady Cilento Hospital so they would b bulk billed otherwise I would of had to pay. The Physio was movement solutions at Holland Park but they do visits at Benowa last time we went there. My daughter has maybe one more follow up visit left just to make sure she is still on track.

Have you tried AFO s? We also had great success with Bowen therapy which is a manipulation of the nerve endings by touch, feel free to inbox me for more info
