Another option is to use regular fabric and piece your backing. I usually incorporate a block or other elements of the front into it so that works for me. But to be honest, it is main reason my quilts take so long to finish because my brain gets overwhelmed trying to find the perfect placement so it won't interfere with the overall quilting...
