Best place to buy a couch in Portland/Vancouver? We are upgrading our current beat up furniture from ReStore and want a new couch. Is there any decent furniture discount...

I went to Mohr for the first time last month, and they are really affordable. $1,200 for a decent sectional. No idea on the quality, other than my friend that recommended it being pleased with his. There's one by Mall 205. Gallery Furniture is a little more, about $2,200 for a similar sized one. Ashley is about the same. Lazboy is a little more than that. Macy's is equivalent to buying an 8 year old Honda sedan. Source: I've been shopping for a couch for the past month.

I like the various vintage places on Hawthorne and Division. Lounge Lizard, Vintage Pink, Foundary, and Artifact are a few noteworthy ones, but there are quite a few in that stretch.

What's New? Furniture, across the street from Next Adventure. My wife and I had a nice custom couch/hide-a-bed made there. If anything, at least go there and get a quote for a custom couch in the same color/size/style/features you want. It might only be a little bit more money to have something that fits perfectly and not just so-so. [http://www.whatsnewfurniture.com/](http://www.whatsnewfurniture.com/)

Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. For new stuff, I like Standard.

Does it have to be new? Goodwill **bins** sells couches for 5-10$ a piece

I know someone that bought a couch at Costco, then returned it three years later.
