BEST hotel(s) in Varese? Either in town or no more than a 25/30 min drive away.
David D. replied:
Art Hotel is a winner, but ask for rooms furthest from the road.
Sergey S. replied:
Ata Hotel. I've never stayed in other hotels in Varese, but Ata was good.

Ibis Styles Varese (formerly Yes Hotel) of course with photographs from Varese by Maddy and me on the walls. Entirely new crew/owners going for a 5 star rating!

Please could anyone give me some advice on a nice place to stay in Milan for a couple of nights in April? (Preferably not too expensive?) Hotel, restaurant or bar...
Nicole V. replied:
Hi, we recently had a stunning weekend in Milan. We stayed at the Art Hotel Navigli, can recommend it, a great position on the navigli which is wonderful to see at night. We had a fabulous lunch at Erba Brusca, they have their own vegetable garden, the food is wonderful. The Bulgari Hotel is very pricey but worth it for aperitivi. All the usual sights and shopping etc is great. Enjoy! www.arthotelnavigli.comwww.erbabrusca.it
Can anyone recommend a hotel recently visited in or near Lucca, at under 100€ a night?
Maggs R. replied:
We stayed in Montecantini ...gorgeous town. Luke Roberts what was the name of our hotel? It was about 60 euro or even less per night for three of us, quiet, lovely staff and about 30 minutes by car to Lucca. Great breakfast included. Booked through booking.com

Sam Domenico is a fairly small resort but up high so snow should still be ok. Webcams look good and the forecast is for a big dump (1 m) over the next few days (as are most places high enough). It will also be quieter than Aosta Valley as less tourists. Good range of slopes for all abilities
