New to the island and looking for a good general dentist - nothing special, teeth cleaning etc. Any recommendations?
Delinda M. replied:
Rasmussen at Vashon Dental across from the new arts center.
Amy I. replied:
I also recommend Dr. Langland!
Breeze H. replied:
See Kim at Langlands office for cleaning!
Felicity M. replied:
Love this dentist http://www.vashonislanddental.com/
Donna R. replied:
Big warm welcome! I adore Dr. Mark Langland and his office staff and especially his hygienists. Wonderful group. Vashon Island Dental, aright uptown by Luna Bella.
My husband needs a root canal...we are new to the island. Suggestions for dentists, please.
Summer R. replied:
We go to Vashon Dental and love the entire staff. http://www.vashondental.com
Denise K. replied:
Dr Cohen is fantastic! Painless!
Scott S. replied:
As someone already mentioned. DR Cohen in west seattle. 10 min from the ferry dock in the Junction and well worth it!
Jennifer J. replied:
Rasmussen recommended Dr Cohen when I needed root canal and it was an easy commute from the island as well as a pleasant experience.
Suzanne C. replied:
I, myself trained at a Seattle Dental School and it's great for tight budgets for general dentistry, however I was also trained in Kirkland as a dental assistant in a Endodontics office. For a Root Canal done correctly it is highly advisable to see an Endodontist. If Dr. Rasmussen recommended Dr. Cohen, it's a pretty safe bet Dr. Cohen is a great Endodontist. Good luck and best wishes!
Arlette M. replied:
We like Dr. Albert Lee in West Seattle on California. Really good and economic compared to the dentists on island.
Debbie Q. replied:
Dr Dunham in WestSeattle....amazing dentist. Reasonable rates, no pain (and trust me I am a chicken) and even came in on his day off for me
Mike U. replied:
Dr Cohen, West Seattle Endontics. Easy, painless, you get to watch a movie.
Sharon D. replied:
Dr. Cohen. Highly advisable to go to a specialist in Endodontics when root canal is needed. It is very specialized dentistry. If it goes bad, it's ugly.
Hello Vashonites, does anyone know if there are any dentists on the island that take Medicaid?
Kerrie S. replied:
Sea Mar dental walkins take both sliding scale patients and state insurance plans. Southpark, i think. 206 -762 -3263. Must check in before 3 pm to be seen same day w/o an appointment. Mon. thru Fri.
Margaret R. replied:
Seattlescape Smiles takes Apple of WA which is similiar to Medicaid on John St. in Seattle.
Dr. Rasmussen for sure. I have had a LOT of work done and he is excellent. His staff is wonderful and all are very professional. Nurse always calls me two days after my appointment to make sure all is well. They always call me the day before appt to remind me.
Craig B. replied:
Marc Langland. Son of pharmacist Tom who are both great guys!
Bobbi M. replied:
Dr. Cunnington at Dental Care of Vashon is super nice and the whole staff are very professional and efficient.
Amanda L. replied:
I love Dr. Langland, and his staff is absolutely wonderful!
Blair D. replied:
Dr. Cunnington for sure!!!
Annie A. replied:
Dr. Rasmussen!
Stefanie P. replied:
Dr. Langland and his staff are great!
Joanne K. replied:
DR Langland is great.
Jon B. replied:
Ned Sneed van Overbeek, I had to reflect on that comment.
Anyone got a preference for a decent dentist on the rock or Tacoma that gives a respectable discount for cash patients?
Greg D. replied:
I'm not sure exactly, but I think Dr. Maki gives 10% off?
Tim M. replied:
Thanks, Greg. Someone else said he was 5%. Sounds like Willamette and Dental Health Services are the best deal.
Constance S. replied:
If it were me, I would call the Pike Market Medical Clinic in the Pike Place Market and find out who they refer people to. They are a sliding-scale medical, so I'm guessing that they know of Dentists. Me, I'm going to Mexico to get my teeth worked on.
Laura D. replied:
PP Clinic has a list you can get. The ones I have been to are Georgetown Dental Clinic, but it is hard to get in unless you have a emergency and Sea-Mar Liked them both!
ISO an awesome dental hygienist. Perusing this forum, I see that Drs. Rasmussen and Langland are well respected dentists on island, but what about their hygienists? I'm...
Robin M. replied:
Dr Rasmussen's hygienists are awesome. Our whole family goes there, they are thorough and wonderful with us and our children.
Anyone have a Seattle (or Vashon) dentist they would recommend for routine dental? If so, I'd love the person's name and neighborhood where their office is located.
Kara P. replied:
Dr Marashi on pill hill up from the office
Jim M. replied:
Vicki says the Dr Rasmussen is good - I'm planning on going to see him.
