Munich/Ljubljana/Rovinj/Venice - hotel recommendations? Hello,
I'll be taking a trip in a few months and am looking for city central hotels to make sight seeing more...

In Ljubljana I stayed in the Grand Union hotel and loved it. They have a business portion of the hotel and a tourist/non-business side. Wonderful breakfast options, and about a 3 minute walk to the city center. Beautiful hotel rooms, clean, air-conditioned, and wasn't ridiculously expensive given the quality.

City centre hotels in Venice are going to be so expensive, the last time I went I stayed a 20 minute bus ride from the city in a beautiful place, affordable too, would that be too far out?

In Venice I stayed in Casa Sant Andrea, booked in booking.com. It is in the island and is cheap (something like 55 eur for a double room). For me was nice, very old building but slept well and had breakfast :p. Also it's not in a very touristic place of the island (if that is possible), but is near the plaza where you take buses to airport, people mover to tronchetto to take buses/park the car, and walking distance from the train station (something that I thanked since walking with luggage within the island would be a pain) No idea in Munich since I stayed in a hostel

Budget would be useful.... I have stayed at Marriot in Munich, near Ostbahnhof two times before I moved here... the residential suites are rather nice, and the location is extremely central. You can also go to the Marriot hotel which shares the same building more or less. Altenratively,if you want a more traditional, and even more central hotel, look for anything between stachus and marienplatz, or just around marienplatz in general, this is the social center of munich, there are lots of high end hotels in this area.
